| The water is getting cool in Kansas, time for dock starts. One problem, never done one or seen one. Do you just jump off and go? |

Make sure your driver is fully paying attention to the rider. Rider/Driver coordination is very important. Get to the edge of the dock and have the driver put the boat into idle to get the slack out. I usually jump just as the rope tightens, but it depends on how high the dock is. Once you jump off the dock, or tell the driver to 'Go' then just lean back and bend your knees. It's intimidating at first, but once you do it you'll realize how easy it really is. _________________ www.Tigeowners.com

Also tell the driver not to floor it. Just ease it up like you would any other start. I jump a little before the rope gets tight. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

Wakebrad, agreed... Unlike a deep water start, you dont need to hammer it down to get the person up, and out quick. Just have him sort of idle out, until there is barely any slack in the line, and then tell them to go. Once he starts, and you hear him get on it a little bit, jump out and turn the board quickly, and land with your knees bent slightly, and weight back. _________________

By the way, what the hell does the water tempature matter at all with a dock start? Are you not going to fall during your ride at all? And when you are done, are you just going to keep edging until you hit the shore? _________________

Dock starts are the best. The highest I ever got to start off of was about 6 feet off the water. So much fun. _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?

when the line is slack it will be in the water, get the boat to start taking up the slack, once the line pulls up out of the water shouts hit it 2 the driver and jump. _________________ There's nothing like a good old faceplant to wake you up in the morning! |
