I'm just curious to see what everyone's preferred boat towing speed is for max air and tricks? _________________ As a wise Korean Whore once said, "Me love you long time!" |

I feel comfortable around 26... Depending on the boat I am behind, the speed will vary a good bit. On my fathers SAN, 26 is perfect, on my Sea Ray, 24 is perfect, on a XStar, 25 is perfect, Malibu 23... It just depends on the wake I am working with. _________________

| I don't focus on speed, I make sure the wake is just right. Partly due to my speedometer being broken, so I use RPM's instead of Speedo! Just have the driver create the perfect wake. That is all determined on weight in the boat, water conditions, and who your pulling! |

i ride real slow (around 17/18mph!!) but im building up my courage to go faster to create a better wake. _________________ There's nothing like a good old faceplant to wake you up in the morning! |

Yeah, swilly, my speedo is broke too! I have my wife use the tach and the sound of the engine primarily, which seems to be more accurate. She also is pretty good about watching the wake as well. _________________ Be an organ donor! My father is alive today because of kind souls that donate life... |

between 20 and 23 for lip riding and just all around skating, 23 or 24 for sliders, and about 25 to 27 for wake2wake on about a 70 foot rope. _________________ aye |

Mr. Top Hat, 27? No way, that's really fast dude. And if you really do ride that fast you should try a longer rope. Lyman rides about27 on a 90! I just can't believe you ride at 27mph.
Notorious, I hope you realize that riding faster wont make you go higher. Hitting the wake better with a better progressive edge will make you go higher.

I'd say 22ish.. Anything faster would hurt to fall as a beginner. When going too slow.. the wake is far too washy and you can't get any pop. 18 would cut it for learning surface tricks like switches and spins. _________________
