I did a search on this but I didn't find anything, but if it has been covered before I apologize..
I work at an airport. Just started designing and handling logo's for the airlines to be displayed at the airport.. Pretty ok job..

Well right now my job includes traveling the US, sampeling the sights, sounds and beers of the places I visit. Perks include getting out of bed (or off the couch) when I please and the odd bit of wakeboarding with new friends here and there. Very Happy

Seriously though, before I left Australia I was a logistics Manager for a company handeling BP fuels, I controlled the fuel levels and fleet for the north-eastern third of my home state. Stress like crazy but my drivers always had me in stitches.

Before that I worked for Vodafone, which was the best job I've ever had. Great pay, flexable hours, lotsa time off (four weeks a year paid leave w/ leave loading, + 1 extra paid day off per month), cool place to work etc etc. They used to have a massuse who would come around to your desk and massage you. They had live bands play in the common areas during the day with free beer and BBQ. Lotsa good stuff. plus I had unlimited time on the internet hence my at one time frequent posting here.

Before that I was a real estate agent, which was a bastard of a job. I hated it so i quit. And before that I was a bartender. I've also a bit of labouring and truck driving. Oh and there was that one night as a man whore, but I ended up down $63.50 that night Laughing

How about this.
What do you do for work?
How much does it pay?

I'd think that would help someone pick a career more wisely.

Floorcovering contractor 100K
Installing flooring is a good trade. If you are willing to work your butt off. It's physically demanding, highly technical, and you have to be "a 100 percenter". To many guys are 99 percenters, and the don't do 100% to get the job perfect, and cleaned up. You'd be surprised. But they are not making as much money. The downside is, I won't want to do this when I'm 50. Which is only 11 years away. Also, you get to pay quartey taxes, twice as much SSI, Pay unemplyment that you can never collect. But you can do alot of cash jobs. Wink Not that I do, just saying. If your are looking for a better job, and want to work for yourself, and want to be paid for what you do, not how long it takes to do it, meaning you can make as much much money as you can do the work. Then look into it. Desk jobs suck in my opinion. But there a job for everyone. yippee yahoo

video production for a large state university. Lots of time to dink around, flexible hours (my boss told me last week that I didn't have to work 40 hrs if I didn't want to). But overall its a super unrealistic job...no professional growth and very easy to get stuck in...so I want to move and do something new (inside the video production field)

Business Development Manager for a family of automotive dealerships.
Basically, marketing. I have a degree in Marketing and like cars, so I thought, perfect! Like my job, honestly, I don't sell cars, but get to play with all the new ones and some cool used ones too. Twisted Evil

I like my job, but I'm not getting paid diddly stuff! I am surviving, not making a living, ya know?

Photographer/Investor

As a photographer, I charge 30/hr right now, and maybe $20-$100 per picture.

As an investor, I do about 100%-200% per month so far, but expect to back that down to 20% a month soon for security reasons.

vette74, damn man that sucks. Fortunately I'm one of the IT guys Laughing .

Actually I'm not part of the group that does monitoring but I know they don't do a good job of it here. We can't even monitor the traffic of our own web applications for debugging purposes! The only problems I run into is if the management walks around and notices I'm on the web a lot. So I have to alt tab when I hear footsteps.

ontrider, They have a program that monitors updates on websites so it knows you are "surfing the web" if you just leave the web page open it doesn't refresh so it doesn't trigger any updates. It also keeps history of all websites visited. Basically this program is just to monitor employees surfing the web. The worst part is that the IT guy lied to us at new employee orientation and he said he would only pull a report if requested by the supervisor. My supervisor did not request it the IT guy did a report over the whole company just for kicks Evil or Very Mad

I am really thinking about buying a cheap laptop and getting a wireless card and then getting a monitor switch to view it on the desktop monitor. I must have my WB.com!!! Laughing

Drilling and workover consultant/rancher/student. As a consultant I can make anywhere from a $2400/month retainer fee to $800 a day for work in crapholes like Campbell County, Wyoming. I can only do that about 4 months a year if I ever want to finish college though. I think I lose money ranching, but it only requires about 8 hours a week. This student job is the worst, but it may be a good, long-term investment.

Student right now.. last summer i was a mechanic's assistant .. rebuilt diesel fuel pumps and injectors.

I got $11/hr and would work 40 hour weeks. Could take holidays whenever i wanted, and allowed (almost) no time for wakeboarder.com.

As a student, I pay something like $50/class (probably more) and I can be on wakeboarder.com as much as I want (hurrah for wireless internet on campus )

EDIT: $500 a class .. my bad.

Unless you go to a public high school, I'm guessing you can add a zero or two to those classes.
