I have a yamaha wave runner and i want to know if there is a way to raise the rope because its to low to get mee up on my wakeboard.
I have heard about pylons but where would you go to get one for a jet ski most are made for boats

Thanks for your advice

If you put a pylon on a jet ski I've heard that you can flip it on a hard edge. Its not too low, you just need to get your technique down. I ride behind an ob, no pylon and I get up fine. I used to ride behind a 13 whaler with a 40hp and got up on that too. The tow point was about 4 inches above the water. There is a seadoo wake series with a small pylon... Buy a wakeskate is the best advice I can give you.

lordofthesnake, not trying to keep you from wakeboarding at all, because it truely is a great thing: However, you may want to look into wakeskating rather than wakeboarding. You can do a little more, and dont have to worry about the wake size, rope heights, near as much!

Talk to the yamaha dealer they may sell a pylon for your jetski. We have a pylon on one of our jetskis, sea doo, and it was made for it.

lordofthesnake, Did they buy it for you or your family? 14 years old seems a hair young for one to own their own boat... Razz

Blake, I owened my first boat when I was 13. I split the cost with my dad, 50/50. It was a 13' Boston Whaler and I loved that thing so much. Hell, I learned to wakeboard behind it. No wake and BARLEY enough power to get a rider up but whatever, it worked. Somehow I doubt he paid for 1/2 of a wakesetter at 14 though...

lordofthesnakes, so your parents bought you a wake specific inboard before you could even get up?!?!? I call BS.

ballywho, I am not saying that he paid or didnt pay for it, I was just thinking how fishy it sounded that one goes from riding a jet ski, into a wake specific machine. Hell, I am 20, and I purchased my own boat this season because I was tired of driving home every weekend to ride... And by no means, was it a wake specific boat! I am going to say either your father loves you very much, or you just caught a glimpse of the banner at the top. But, for your sake, and your enjoyment, I hope you are telling the truth!

parents bought the boat mostly for me for a b-day/ x mas gift and i threw in 3 grand and i have been wakeboarding like 15 times on my friends boat but since we got our jet ski 2 seasons ago ive been trying to get up on it.

secondly the wakesetter isnt a wake specific boat its an 11 person boat so its not only for wakeboarding. also even if i didnt wake board we'd get this boat for jetski wake jumping which as any jet skier knows is a blast.

HAHAHA so you're the guy jumping wakeboat wakes? You are going to get RANKED on for that post. A wakesetter vlx is a wake specific. So what if it holds 11 people? I think an X-Star holds about the same, does that mean it's not for wakeboarding? What about a SANTE? Please tell me a Sanger isn't designed as a person carrier!!!

ballywho, The X-80 holds something like 15 or so...

Now, my father bought me a 2004 SAN TE for an early birthday present, Christmas present, late graduation from high school, and an early graduation from college...

Again, it is a wakeboard specific designed hull, and the ballast that comes stock on the boat must be to counter the weight of the 11 other passengers... Rolling Eyes

And I really like pricks like yall that go flying ass speed behind me when I am riding hitting my wake, throwing little rollers all around the place, and just pretty much being a slack jaw pickle smoocher.

Its one thing to make a joke about it, and it is another to keep the lie alive. Please, post some pics if you dont mind... However, to make yourself more credible, copy and paste the pics from boattrader.com into ms paint, and save the images as a jpeg, then host them on the site to make them look authentic! Please, I dont want to have to drill you with questions that arent found in the owners manual or on their website.

well im sorry that you all hate me now but since i do wakeboard/kneeboard and tube this boat is pretty perfect for it as well as being able to hold 11 people thats 8 more than the jet ski so all around its great i will posts pics when we get it in the spring no point in going to pick it up when its going to snow soon. Also boats that are "wake specific" are made for wakeboarding but can be used for liesure

You really might ought to reconsider debating the virtues of wake specific with these guys. They are probably going to light you a new one when a few more show up on here later.

I didn't even realize that you said you like to tube, on top of wake-jumping with jetski's, you're a dead man for sure.

lordofthesnake, do you have any clue what in the bloody hell you are talking about? What type of drive do you have? I am not going to tell anyone how to spend their money. I could care less if someone owned an X 80 all the hell they did do was tube. But, for you not wanting to post pics until this spring, shows to me at least, that you are full of sh*t. The fact that you are a troll, and you use your jet ski to "jump" wakes, can barely get up, and you tube, all builds up into one phrase. EAT A DICK SLACK JAW!

Yes, and the cute little spins in the center of the riding area... jerk offs
Sorry... dealt with this crap just yesterday.
We have an air horn that we blow at these pricks when they tail us.

Sorry to highjack the thread...

sorry, I can't resist...I must jump on this one too...

lordofthetrousersnake, your parents happened to buy you a WAKEsetter VLX right when you are going into winter up there in New Yawk, and your dealer is going to store this "said" boat for you the whole winter?? That is a damn nice dealer...but i'm guessing that the dealer would either a.) want the boat off of his lot to make room for next years models, or b.) charge your daddy an arm and a leg to store it there over the whole winter, or c.) there is no WAKEsetter in the family, and you're still stuck with the lake roach.

And, no matter if there's a boarder behind a boat or not....you should keep your roach far, far, faaaaaaaar away from another vessel. You never know when you might get hit in the head wih a beer bottle going 50 mph. Exclamation

WOW, that is interesting, almost funny looking.
Looks like "Pimp my PWC"
Interesting concept though...wonder if it helps at all with the jetski tracking, doubtful.

lordofthesnake, dude I hope you get hit by a car or something, I mean seriously..you tube, you jetski, you say you have an at least $50 boat at the age 14..I seriously doubt that you could pay $3,000 and that is enough money to persuade(sp) your parents into getting a brand new wake boat when you can't even get up yet..I actually hope you are kidding so I don't have to kill myself..

lordofthesnake (or lord of the B.S.)
Here is a tip that will save you some grief...
Before you post ever again, think to yourself about how it will read or come across to a tough crowd. If you feel a remote possibility of embarassment and/or harassment, you should think twice about that post...
Don't just write something that you think will get you liked on this site, these guys will chew you up, and then make you feel dumber than your post sounded.
Sometimes it is better to just sit back and read other posts than to make up some crap of your own..

lordofthesnake, honestly do you really think you can convince everyone on here that you parents bought you a 55 grande WS VLX when your 14??why would he buy you a WAKEspecific boat when you have no clue anything about wakeboarding,it sounds like you cant even get up on a wakeboard, and you tube? Colorful stick to your tubing and "wake jumping" on your little sea-doo,one day you will get shot. so unless your daddy is a millionare and has nothing else to spend his money on,i find it hard to believe that he is stupid enough to spend that much money on something for YOU that you cant even drive for 2 years ,yet have the money to keep up with the maintence/gas money it will cost you to fill it up to ride,or any other problem that might come up that you will have to pay for.you cant get a job that pays you good enough to do these things until your out of school because a part time job flipping hamburgers at mcdonalds wont cover those things, just some advice...before you post something again as stupid as this, beware that you will get ranked on for months,i see you posted this thread october 4??and its november 22 and your still getting ragged on. so dont cry to your daddy the next time you decide to be cool and make yourself look like a complete dumb ass Rolling Eyes
