i just happen to have a boat laying around. it is completly bare, it has no motor in it or anything for that matter, just the bare body. i was wondering if a large sea-doo motor would still work for wakeboarding. or should i stick with a prop??

vert difficult to say without seeing the hull...

can we see a pic? any ideas what power it used before?

Is there a mount where an outboard bolted on before? or engine mounts where the motor used to be.. an are they amidship or back at the stern?

surely it will be easier to use whatever the hull and deck layout was designed to be compatable with before...

well the boat is in 2 pieces.. it has no back to it.. so its like just a platform leading off the boat.. the 2 pieces are the top and the hull.. it just needs to be rivitted together.. i am building it with the help off my brother and dad.. but we need the motor... i dont really think there is a place for an out board or in board prop motor, i think it was originally ment for a sea doo engine.

IMO you would spend more money trying to get that fixed up than if you just bought a cheap used outboard boat, plus the used outboard would most likely have a better wake as well.

I know you could get a used direct drive for what you will have in that. I just sold a 1990 Supra for $9000 last summer. It was in excellent shape. I have seen many direct drives in the $5- 6 grand range that could use some cosmetic work, but are still solid machines.

Anthony Csogor, Big props for what you are trying ot do but i personally can't see it happening for any less than a comparable outboard boat once complete.

My advice would be to atleast start with a complete deck/hull setup...

Just my 2 cents
