I have a set of wake designs speakers but I need the 2 piece collar clamps to mount them. Wake designs wants 140$ each for these. Any suggestions. They have to be heavy duty.
Haha duty. |

That's pretty pricy. Check out the clamps on www.diytower.com near the bottom. I saw ones for $90 _________________

Depending on the diameter of your tower, I found some alluminum clamps that may do the job and they're only $10 each!
Go to www.smileysracing.com and search for ballast brackets. These clamps are used to mount lead counter weights on race cars, so they are plenty heavy duty enough to do the job. The largest size they come in is 1 3/4". This is what I used for my 2004 Supra SSV. My tower is 1 5/8", so these clamps work perfect with a little rubber spacer.
There is a Smiley's store near where I work, so I picked up the clamps there. The ones they had at the store did not have the Smiley's logo stamped on them like the one in the picture below (the one on the left). However, they only came in red, so I plan on painting them to match the color of the tower box that I am building.
There are definitely more attractive clamps out there, but at $10 each I'm not complaining. _________________ "I'm not a professional wakeboarder, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn last night". |

Try Crutchfield.com. I found speaker clamps on there for 40 bucks a pair. They are used for the bazooka tubies but with a little modification you can get them to work on other applications |
