|
|
| I live in coastal southeast Georgia and the only place to wakeboard around here is in the local rivers. Everytime I go out, the water is at least a little choppy, and half the time, it's really choppy. Whether it's boat traffic, wind, or the current, there is always something preventing the water from being even remotely smooth. While trying to get better at the beginner level tricks, I have to devote half my attention to worrying about simply staying on the boat. Any tips on making balancing easier? How much of a difference does it make when you can ride along a smooth water surface? |

wakeboarding in choppy conditions is probably the worst wakeboarding you can do, if you can find some smooth water then thats the way to go. its alot easier and less stressful. Try waking up and doing some early morning wakeboarding sessions.. thats usually when the best water is. _________________ Hesitation leads to pain |

I wakeboard on the sea and the best time to wakeboard is either early in the morning or late in the evening when the wind has died down or there is less boat traffic around. I tried boarding on a flat lake and it is so much easier. Choppy watr is difficult but if u can master boarding on that then you're sorted when u go on flat water. _________________ Live Life to the Edge otherwise you will miss the view |

I take it you only ride on the weekends too? If so, try riding by the river when you have some free time during the day, if you have some free time, and checking out the water. I find it better to board during the week, than on the weekends. If you really just have to board on the weekends, hit up the water as early as you can. Otherwise, devote your days to wakesurfing! _________________

| Believe me, I go as much as I can, but I don't even own a wakeboard. My friend got one for his birthday in early August and between school, sports, and jobs, we only get to go about once a week. We can't even completely control the time we go at, because he belongs to a boat club so we have to reserve a boat and we don't even get to use the same boat everytime. It sucks. I just want to wakeboard 5 hours a day, every day. |

colin0205, Yeah... That sucks man. I guess I dont really think about how lucky I am when I go out enough. I usally ride about 5 days a week. The earliest I will take a class is 11, so that I can ride in the mornings, or late afternoon! I guess, just have fun with it, and make it what you can. A bed set is better than no set! And also note, the more you ride, the easier it will get. Butter is nice, but if you cant ever get it, you will adapt! _________________

| I usually go out with 2 or 3 other people, so we altenate for the 5 hours which doesn't tire you out too bad. Choppy water isn't going to stop me. I'll go every chance I get. |
