Well he doesn't have to be the saviour this time, which should make things easier for him on the ice. It's a relatively low-risk, high reward gamble for the Leafs since they're only paying him an average salary. Same as Allison.
BTW shouldn't Wing fans like yourself be worried about whether Datsyuk is going to return to Detroit this year? |

microman,
Lindros is the biggest tool in the league.
I heard from a close source, that Eric got his a$$ kicked at a Montreal nightclub by the figure skater Elvis whatever his name is. I guess Elvis is a something degreed black belt and beat the **** out of him.
Lindros was the reason the Av's won all those cups.

Bambamski, I agree... Lindros (aka concussion boy - sucks). At least he won't have to worry about Scott Stevens wandering around this year.
Sad that people from Calgary are always ragging on God's team though.
Btw... Bambamski, thanks for giving us Gilmour for Gary Leeman. |

I still can't talk about that trade.
We too had hopes that Leeman would return to form...
Datsyuk, is playing in Russia as far as I know. He wanted Iggy, Forsburg money which Detroit wasn't willing to pay. He's good but not proven. He's playing for one of the richest guys in Russian I believe. Odds makers in Vegas have Detroit as the 2nd favorite team behind Philly to win the cup this year?? Goes to show you they no nothing about hockey.
They were going through the lines here in Calgary in the paper. Mcarty was on the fourth line. Looks like we'll have some decent depth around here for a change. |

So, I heard the Hawks won 2 of their pre season games.
I know this will not last once the season gets started.
So, who should I pick as a new team to rally behind?
It can't be st. louis, detroit or Toronto. I am thinking maybe the Avs just bacause I like to vacation in CO. The Kings have a kewl jersey. Devils, that was the name of my mens league team.
Any suggestions?
I have my reason for not supporting the Hawks. _________________ www.integrity-wake.com |

Junkee,
Carney is gone right?
Roenick is gone too right?
Who is on your team?
I like Phoenix. They are a contender. _________________ www.integrity-wake.com |

muckmeister, who isnt on our team!!
we have brett hull, mike ricci, petr nedved, curtis joseph, shane doan, ladislav nagy, mike leclerc, oleg saprykin, sean odonnell, mike comrie, david tanabe, paul mara, just to mention a few, and of course we now have gretz behind the bench.
our team is solid, and actually has depth for once. |

I have narrowed it down then.

They must be American. When does the season start? _________________ www.integrity-wake.com |

Brett Hull washed up, got cut from the U.S world cup team two years ago.
Mike Ricci Good checker but can't put the puck in the net
Nedved, soft, put someone that can check on him and he won't go in the corner ever again
Joseph? he's a bum, way over rated, never been past the second round of the playoffs in his life.
The rest of the list? hmmm your scraping man!
Top 3 Muckmiester? I don't thinks so. Even Toronto has more names than that. Although if Steve Thomas makes the squad this year you know you have a bad team. What is he like 42 or 43.
I'd put the Flames around 4-5th with their line up.
Hamrlik
Amonte
Yelle
Iginal
Nilson
Regehr
Simon
McCarty
Kiprusoff
Langkow
Rhett Warrener
Leopold
They have the best young defensive players in the league. |

And the problem Calgary has is they are short on offensively talented forwards. They're going to need more than hard work this time around to make another run. |

I think we have more pure scorers than we did a couple of years ago MM. That was the problem a couple of years ago, when Iggy didn't score we lost a good chunk of the games. We have four lines that can go, two years ago we only had two. _________________ Don't do anything rash.....and don't do anything to get a rash... |

Bambamski,
I never said those three would win. I just said those are the three I am going to choose from to be my team this year.
I am boycotting the Hawks until the ownership changes. I cant support them any longer. I hate doing this but, I can not conitnue to give my money and support to an owner/ franchise that has consistently taken advantage of their fans.
The Flames lineup doesnt look like much though.
Nilson and Yelle, I always loved Amonti, McCarty is a warrior fo shizzo, Simon is a tool, thats Chris right? Iginal, cant pronounce his name, but he doesnt have the maturity, _________________ www.integrity-wake.com |

I don't know, they did add Amonte and Langkow, but they lost Gelinas and Conroy. A bit of a wash there. They really need Kobasew and Lombardi to pick up some of that slack this year. |

Bambamski, im scrapin? haha ok.
shane doan ranked 7th in points last season, in the whole nhl, and on a losing team no less. Nagy, before his injury had 24 goals and 28 assists in 55 games. Tanabe is an offensive minded defensmen. oh i forgot to mention we have derek morris too.
now im not gunna bg on your flames[too much]. you have iggy, and the mikka dude in net. and if you think hull is washed up, wait till you watch amonte. simon? as in chris simon? ooook. maybe in 99 when he was on the Caps...
i hardly think i am scraping. |

MM Gelina scored some big goals for sure but I wasn't a big Conroy fan. He caused more goals against then he helped score. I'd dread when ever he was on the ice during the playoffs a couple of years ago.
Muck, you haven't seen Iggy play much have you? HE is the best all round player in the NHL. If I'm picking players for a team I pick him first overall. He can put the puck in the net and he can drop the gloves with anyone in the league. Between him and Kipper they're the reason they should have won the cup. Robbed in game six when they missed the goal.....
Junkee, Derik Morris? Is that the same Derik Morris that Calgary got rid of about 4 years ago for a bag of hockey pucks? Man I take Amonte and Simon in the playoffs every day before I'd ever touch Hull. I remember watching the playoffs when Calgary took out Detroit and he was BRUTAL. I'm a Detroit fan as well. the only time he ever scores is when the game is 7-1 and he pots that all important 8th goal. _________________ Don't do anything rash.....and don't do anything to get a rash... |

yeah that derek morris. who as a rookie defensemen, had 30 points for your precious Flames. and as soon as you traded him to colorado, he tallies 48 . good trade. hope those pucks are working out for you... |

Didnt Iggy really choke in the cup? Like no goals or only one? He is a tuff player for sure. I have seen him scrap and he is a bad a$$, I think he just needs another year or two to really come into his own. _________________ www.integrity-wake.com |

Junkee, early in his career Hull could put the puck in the net. How old is he now though? 40? Hasn't played in two years. Messier was a joke his last two years he played, Hull is going to be a bigger joke. Trust me.
MM wow that was your first star ever on the forum. Congrats...
Do you even get hockey in Phoenix Junkee? I was in Phoenix two years ago during the playoffs and the only coverage I could find were the scores on the bottom of the screen in the ticker.
I do agree MM on the SI comment. They're a joke. They should just stick to the most boring sport ever created (baseball). They have to be almost done now aren't they? _________________ Don't do anything rash.....and don't do anything to get a rash... |
