Nah, Potvin would be much further back in the net.

Yep, turning the nets around or aiming for posts just doesn't cut it.

playing post does get annoying.
one session we had 4 goalies. nothing more coufusing is four goalie, in four different jerseys. then they'd change ends in the middle of a play. confused that hell out of me. thought i was going the wrong way.
and muck, the easton synergy is that $$$$ stick you are talking about. i dont know the big deal about it. i use all wood. and my backup stick is a old old braches 8800 aluminum. i would never pay for a synergy

Junkee,
That stick is out of control. 210 bucks.
I am using the TPS graphite thing. I used Sherwoods for ever. I love the Shanahan blade.

Sherwood w/LeClair blade here.
Synergy's are like $265 here... $280 for a couple patterns
Even the sh!tty knockoffs are $70.
Oh, and I play center... and love hacking people's stick's on the draw when they have those things.

Ottawa, Muck
Some of those sticks are freaken crazy expensive. 70 to 400 bucks for a stick? I'll keep playing with my old Easton and my Costco blade that I pay 20 bucks for two I guess. Any blade that has the heal curve is crap, I can't hit the net to save my life with those curves.

I have one from about 6 years ago I think? I love it though, it's a super stiff shaft which is hard to find. I also have a composite for my spare stick. I find that anything to flexible and I miss the net 8 out of 10 shots. hmmm that didn't sound that good did it?

Funny to hear about you guys talking about hockey gear...It is what I do for a living...I work for Mission/Itech in So Cal...Ahh the benefits of not having to pay for gear, sticks, ice time, etc....
My pick this year is Anaheim, Philly, New Jersey, Avs (just because they are my team)...lol

Justin 1933,
Hook a brother up.
I just threw out my old ITECH bag and bought a Lauren. Have you seen those?
Since I have an ITECH rep, that plastic liner wasnt good for sh1t. Though my ITECH gloves with the kevlar palm were the best gloves ever. I love those.
So, Hook me up. LOL
E.J.,
See what you get for putting your kid in net so you can shoot on him? LOL
Kid is in pretty good postion though.

anytime...I don't have anything to do with the Itech products...I only work on the Mission stuff...Sorry if you don't like the Itech stuff from the past...
As a fellow goalie, I understand your pain with the price of gear...It is expensive...I will tell you this much, our margins aren't that great....

Note….that is just a part time hobby. He informed me after Summer league that he wanted to start skating out as well. “Dad, I’m sick of sitting out there all by myself….think I want to score some goals again.” $500 to get him outfitted in skate out gear and I have another bag in the garage to deal with.
As far as Mission….the Little Man has a M-1 stick….but that is the extent of it…..oh and I also wear M-1 gloves when I skate with him.

Alter Ego,
AE,
How can a center like a goalie. It's an oxymoron. In fact, during pick up games I will dress in the room w/ out the goalies.
There are a few goalies I like. Like anyone that shows up at 10:30 for a pick up game.
JK, I just hate the ones with the big mouths.

Justin 1933,
Actually, Mission has been making some pretty kewl stuff. I have seen a ton as of late on the ice.
I have started wearing the inline pants for pick up. I just use shins and a cup and those inline pants work well.
Need an address? JK

DunDunDun, 5030's are crappy... any stick under 30 bucks at a place like National Sports is usually a p.o.s. and will break quickly if you shoot hard.
I love the Sherwood PMPX 9950's.... probably have about 40 of those suckers

The Pens added Gonchar, Leclair, Palffy, Crosby, and Thibault, which should be enough to at least make the playoffs. Buffalo OTOH did jack this summer and they weren't a good club to begin with.

Thibault is a great goalie. I bet he makes the all-star game. I can't believe we traded him.
That happened this year right?

The Pens were the worst freaken team in the league. Their Defense SUCKED, last time I checked Palffy, Crosby and Leclair weren't defensive specialists. How's Lemieux's defensive skills? If he ever came back over the redline instead of floating around for a break out pass he might be ok. You think Gonchar is going to be the savior? Like I said before, Pittsburg has some more work to do.
MM, Buffalo has some young decent players, they missed the playoffs a couple of years ago if I remember correctly (ninth) and they didn't lose anyone either (they're my darkhorse pick). TO lost how many? Plus their goalie is a washed up 40 year old wannabe these days that has to wear smaller pads this year. Leaf fans better be religious because they'll have to do a lot of praying for God's team.

It depends on whether the game truly changes or not. The new rules(no redline, shootouts, etc.) plus another crackdown on obstruction should clearly favour the Pens.

IMO too many other teams improved for the Sabres to make a move upward. Nothing is out of the question of course, since we haven't seen most of these players on NHL ice in a year and a half.

Washed up? I'd wait till he plays a game before you make that declaration. He proved against the Sens in the 2004 playoffs that he still has it. And speaking of the Sens, they're backed by a goaltender just as old but who has only played 14 games in over 3 years.

The difference between the Sens and the Leafs though, is that the Sens actually have some talent on their team.

Ouch. If Lindros and Allison return to form and stay healthy the Leafs should be very dangerous up front, if not well there's always next year.
