I use one of those pump things w/the hose on it. I've got something similar to this, but honestly mine sucks. I just stick the tube into the dip stick hole. It's like a 10 min job.

yea pretty straight forward as jay said, suck out the old, add new up to line on dipstick, check it again after using it for a little while and possibly add a little

Yeah, you definitely need to use a pump of some sort. I wouldn't mess with manual-style pumps. Check out this drill pump by Jabsco. It's the bomb for tranny fluid changes, plus I use it to suck my crankcase oil dry in a heartbeat.
