i was wondering, how long does it take for none pressure treated wood to rot, when just sitting in the water for a season?

I coated my slider with some water protection stain I had kicking around. It sits in the water for the whole season. After two years I haven't seen any rot on the wood at all. There's just a water line around the slider but thats all.

A thin coat of resin will permanently seal the wood as well. Cool

I totally agree, once you make the slider and try it out you think of so many other thing to do with it but you still have to protect the wood. I've built a couple of sliders and I reuse the wood from the old slider to make the new ones, woods expensive so for me anything that I can reuse helps.

yes anth lets protect the wood we'll reuse the wood for something else..maybe a snowboard jump for the winter??
