Yeah I've been to Bear Lake, its really really nice, and it is pretty clean. Its out in the middle of nowhere though, a pain in the ass to get to.

From every website I have seen it looks amazing. From Roy it's about a 2 hour drive but I'm going to take my boat up in a couple weeks to see for myself.

I've been there several times. It's very beautiful.

It's a mountain lake, and is fa-fa-fa-freezing. Water temp doesn't get above the low 70's (73 last week), and the only really warm time up there is in late July / mid August, and you still have that underlying feeling of a cool-mountain breeze. I'm not that fond of it because I'm used to riding Mead at 90+.

It's a pretty good size lake (maybe 15 miles X 7 miles - you can go from one end to the other and back in less than an hour), but it gets crowded because it's basically oval-shaped - no coves or protection. It can also kick up some pretty nasty storms, very quick.

You can rent pretty much any water toy, boat, tubes, waverunner, etc... But I haven't seen any wakeboard specific boats for rent.

Right now the water is pretty low, but the north marina and the State Park marina on the north-west side are both open. Water level in the north marina is around 2 feet, and if it isn't closed by this weekend, i'm sure it will be by next.

The Park ranger checks your registration and numbers on the way into the marina, so be sure you have them on the boat. Parking at that marina can be a pain if it's crowded.

Right now, pretty much any major roads from the South are under construction between SLC and Bear Lake - I-80, Provo Canyon, Logan Canyon all have construction and lane closures, so it is a pain to get there.
