If you look at www.nadaguides.com, the value range is low retail $6190 and average retail of $7930, I think the engine problems would put it below low retail. I'd say subtract the cost of repairs off $6200.

that sounds pretty good to me if the boat is in good condition. since it's a barefoot i'm guesing it has the 454? 454's are about the cheapest engines to work on next to 350's. you shouldn't be out more than $3-4,000 on a good rebuild. if you do that then put $2,000 into a tower you've got one of the best wakeboard boats next to a super air for about $12,000. plus you should have plenty of power to run as much ballast as you want.

Yeah, I totally agree with Wes. I have a Nautique Excel, which is very similar to the Barefoot Nautique, probably the same, and it runs a sweet wake. Subtract the cost of the repair and make an offer.

Honestly -Junker-don't buy it..... you don't know for sure if it's just a head gasket.. that's what the guy selling it is telling you. It's a Nautique sure but any boat with engine problems is just another problem waiting to happen, hey of you are a wrench head go for it but I like to use my toy's not work on them...
I would stay far away from that one, better deals everywhere just look....
They don't through that nice of a wake, if it was a 2001 hull Nautigue then I would consider it for a much reduced price.

he lowered the price to 6000 is this a better deal, and i'll tell him if it needs more than a new head gasket its not worth it to me at that price.its also got a good trailer, monkey bar, 1 rack, barefootboom, 2 sacks, pump, and spare prop

If he'll go to 5 buy it... 6 is steep for something with engine problems. _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong. |

you could put an entirely new engine in it for about 3,000 if you played your cards right. The boats worth that much 5,000 for sure if the hulls in good shape and the interior looks good and its got a nice trailer. Anybody can work on an engine, if you want a boat at this price you better be willing to do some work. I'd rather have a engine problem then a hull problem. You could be something without enginge problems but then you wouldnt be getting the quality that makes the resale of a nautique so much.
