I am having lots of trouble doing some 360's. I feel i do not have even weight on my feet when i hit the wake but i don't know what's going on. I get the 180 and then i just start pulling into an invert and land on my back. For now i'm trying it without the handle pass (letting go). Help?

heres what you need to try. edge into the wake like you would for a normal w2w jump. instead of popping off the wake like you normally would, ollie off the wake. in other words: push off the tail of the board and bring your front knee up. then pull the handle with BOTH hands to your back hip once you are at the peak of your jump. glue your chin to your front shoulder and look in the direction you are spinning. pass the handle right above your butt. remember to keep your handle as close as possible to the small of your back as you can, preferably against it almost. keep your hand that you are going to pass the handle to really close to your body as well and stick behind your back as soon as you pull in with both hands. its a quick transition. now all you have to do is spot your landing because the handle should pull you the rest of the way around. keep your eyes up toward the shore or the boat and absorb the landing with your knees.

TIPS:
i believe its important to learn this W2W before trying to go huge on it (just like any trick, except a raley).

trying to spin to early like right as you leave wake will throw you off axis and you will land on your back or face.

Heres a progression you should try first before going w2w. when ever you do you double up, edge out on your heels, pop off the roller and practice your 360 there first. after you can spin good there (not neccesarily riding away), take it 1 wake. let the boat do the edging and pull you in slowly and do a 1 wake 360. then take it two wakes.

grabbing the board slob helped me wait to spin because i was spinning right off the wake way to early and getting a good digger everytime.

practuce your surface 360. you will really get used to the handle position if you do this.

im sure theres a few pointers i forgot... but you get the idea.

you shouldn't ollie off the wake like natxbrotha said... and i dono about his whole progression idea... just do it w2w and skip all the roller and 1 wake crap.

im sorry numbfoot, but how do you know what should or shouldnt be done? you ever tried it this way? some people really have problems with 360's and those are the solutions to them. thats how i learned my ts slob 3, switch ts slob 3, ts 5 and switch ts 5 and hs slob 3. when you ollie off the wake (press hard off the tail) the board comes right up to your hand so you can grab it. give it a shot.

hey dude, something you should try: a problem lots of people have when trying 3's is the handle pass (getting pulled onto your back, etc.... try passing the handle AS LOW AS POSSIBLE when your learning them. like, literally make the handle pass down just under your knees. try it, once you try it you'll see what im talking about.

im working on my backside 180 and 3 as well, something i know i have been doing wrong is not standing up tall at the wake, and throwing it to soon causing me to get off axis. so dont do those things.

ok u need a wide turning area, drive straight then start 2 turn... wait no 2 hard 2 explain i will hav 2 draw a pic Wink ............ ok when your boat drives over its own wake it creates 3 huge waves in the side of the wake.... the aim is to time your edge so that u hit one of these waves....making you go higher/further Smile

natxbrotha, ollieing off the wake looks just plain sloppy and isn't part of a correct progressive edge. you can get plenty of pop just standing tall... at least most of us can. and you don't need to ollie to grab stuff... it's easy enough just to suck your legs up. and it wouldn't make any sense to learn 3's off the double up and then take them 1 wake.... first of all it's harder to take them bigger... like off the double up. and doing them 1 wake is just going to make them harder because you have to spin that much faster. all you need to do is get a nice progressive edge, stand tall at the wake, pop, pull pass, practice practice practice.

numbfoot,
first of all, learn how to read. QUOTE "when ever you do you double up, edge out on your heels, pop off the roller and practice your 360 there first."

you do your three off the roller not the DU. it helps you get used to the handle pass and staying on axis.

doing them 1 wake helps you with learning the handle pass with line tension.

its a process to learn it this way, especially if you are going off axis everytime, but it definitely works.

im sorry, but not everyone is born a professional wakeboarder like yourself with all the spins/flips/raleys/mobe variations you can do. and if you dont want to help people with their tricks, then dont comment. i get into detail with tricks unlike the usual "pop, pull, pass" solution. which indeed is correct, but theres more than one way to skin a cat if you catch my drift swift. good day.

i'm not saying everyone is born a professional wakeboarder. when learning 3's i found it easiest just to try them w2w. good day to you too.
