Here is my Mobius Wake with only about 1000 lbs. ballast and 2 passengers. The pic doesn't do it justice. The wake on it is great. We weight it with about 1500 lbs now. Moomba is a great boat. You won't be dissapointed.

We were planning on getting the outback with the whole package: ballast, tower, ect. Is the wake similar to the moomba mobius? They weigh about the same and they are the same lenght, so they must have similar wakes.

The outback, weighted with the stock ballast plus a couple of other sacks will put out an intermediate level wake. It won't be the same as the Mobius wake because of the different hulls. You will have to weigh the outback down a lot if you are wanting a really big wake. The Outback is usually used for people that both wakeboard and slalom. Its a good crossover boat. If your just going to wakeboard, I would suggest looking at the Mobius LSV. If you want a a direct drive, look at the Mobius.

Does anybody have a picture of the outback wake? What do the wake plates do, should I get those?

Wakeplates help to shape the wake. You can push the plate down to flatten it out, or lift it to let the wake gain max size. I would say it is worth the money. It also helps the boat from porpasing (SP???) when cruising.

I didn't know you could put a wakeplate on a Moomba. If so, How much does that run? and, How much does it really help the wake?
