I think you can still pretty much tell that you are keeping your knees bent while going off the wake, absorbing the pop. Try standing up much earlier, you should be literally standing straight up when you reach the top of the wake. _________________ Liquid Force 2004 Evo 138 - Liquid Force Alpha 2005 |

If you want air, watch the progressive edge video in trick tips on this site. I always watch instructional videos full-speed first, then go int manual (frame-by-frame) mode and really study it, then go full speed again. Good luck, and lookin' good!
BTW, your starting earlier than my dad, he was 44 years old when he started! |

wake09,
consider using a period occasionally to mark the end of a sentence or thought. The wake should do all the work for you. I've only been out 3 or 4 times since learning about the correct way to hit the wake, and I'd say that the wake does 90% of the work for me. I cut, leave my knees slighly bent but stiff, and keep that position up off the wake.
slvrbullit,
check out this thread for some tips on progressive edging -

A little experiment for you - take a cut at medium speed with no intention of clearing the wake. when you hit the wake try jumping (flexing legs, pushing off to get height). Then do it again, but as you approach the transition keep your legs stiff (not straight, but stiff) and just let the wake throw you. I think you'll find that you get more pop (air) compared to when you try and force the jump. Now add a bit of speed when cutting towards the wake and you'll get the distance. |

Aim for hitting the wake at a 90 degree angle (cutting harder) _________________ Adam

| Addammer, no offense but imo this is bad advice. it is IMPOSSIBLE to hit the wake at ninety degrees. |

Cool, congrats! Wake_Quake, : Shouldn't you be looking at your landing, not the pylon? I ask because in the videos I have seen (Waketrix, Detention, Higher Education), I believe that they always say to "spot your landing" , or to look at the horizon across the wake.
I think his handle position is OK, it IS at his lead hip, in flight.
But it does look like he is definetly absorbing the wake with the bent knees. _________________ Be an organ donor! My father is alive today because of kind souls that donate life... |
