|
|
After three years of boat ownership my boyfriend, Mike, was spending more time fixing our boat instead of riding behind it. Mike had always joked about comming home from work and finding a new boat in the driveway.
I stopped by Chicago MasterCraft since they had done flawless repairs on our boat and I knew they were honest and reliable. Well, the guys worked hard there to get me into this '02 X Star! I am so thrilled with this boat I can't even explain it - it is loaded with options, rides like a dream and was really well cared for.
I signed the papers and drove this baby home. (I have to admit I impressed myself by backing it into the driveway all by myself.) Mike's birthday is in a few days so it made a perfect early birthday present. Needless to say, Mike was thrilled and coincidentally had this whole week off for vacation. We plan on putting a couple dozen hours on this week! Thanks for the next few years of fun Chicago MasterCraft!

Thanks, guys. We were on the water for about ten hours yesterday!
Nickdakoolkat - Mike taught me how to back the trailer - my key phrase is "turn into trouble". As far as finding a chick like me, well, maybe you can find a nice girl and just keep pointing her in the right direction. It helps that I had a very cool older brother growing up - ask your cool buddies if they have a sister (just duck for the punch they are gonna throw!)
Rufio - isn't that your girlfriend in your avatar?

Lizrd, Your boyfriend is a lucky man. My girlfriend at the time(wife now) bought a boat with me(shared payments) after we had only been dating a couple months. I knew then she was the one

There are 2 holes for a front bilge and a rear bilge, then there are 3 holes that are overflow when each ballast tank is full, then all 3 ballast tanks drain outta the middle one on the back right..... That is how my X2 is anyway, dont know if they still plumb them the same, Chicago MC should be able to fill you in.

Hollywood you are correct!
Hey Lizrd I saw you guys at BC this weekend but never introduced myself and apologize. Mark from Chicago Mastercraft is my boyfriend and I'm glad he was able to hook you guys up! I've been on that boat too and it's awesome.
Thanks for giving props to Chicago Mastercraft!! I hope you enjoy the boat!

Hey everybody - thanks again!
SouthWaker - so far the Grand Cherokee is OK at the job. It did better with our little Moomba this trailer is far nicer so it hauls forward easy as pie. We have gone to a few different ramps and haven't had much trouble except for the so-called "boat ramp" that we were on this weekend. Usually I'm very good at all aspects of trailering but the wheels slipped going down the dirt/gravel ramp and I chickened out. I decided right then and there that I will be upgrading to a full size 4x4 truck! I just pictured the whole rig going into the river...
militiachick - we will meet up at some point! I'd love to know a girl that rides - my crew is all boys which is great but a bit testosterone heavy . We are completely in love with the boat - and it has a ton of options so we can't even think of anything that we need to add. In ten days we have put on 22 hours!

Since we have had this work of art, We have had a great time. Just this morning we had a friend of ours land his first invert behind it.
On a related note, We found out the true meaning of the words "customer service" yesterday.
We were out on the fox with raging buffalo, when we began riding low in the water. After popping the hatch on the boat, it was discovered that there was a hole in one of the hoses.
Keith stopped and called Chicago Mastercraft, and sent his driver to go get the truck and pulled the boat out of the water. Within 1/2 an hour of the call, Will, the greatest boat mechanic ever, arrived with the hose and got us all back on the water. I have no idea how he made it there so quick, but the whole boatload of people appreciated it!

Hey Lizrd, I'll either see you at Nationals next weekend or Double up Del Noche. Are you planning on going? I doubt I'll ride cuz I'm not sure if the lake will be blocked off or what the whole set up will be like but I'm definitely planning on going to Fall Fallout Sept 30-Oct 1.
Key work though is ride....I can't do much other that let the boat pull me!! HAHA.
