I can have a 360 on skis down no problem and can spin a 360 and 540 on my wakeboard but can't get the handle or if I do I faceplant very hard.
Here's my question. Do I want to spin as the boat is pulling me (so I would be facing backwards getting pulled by the boat in the air) or do I want to do the spin with complete slack in the rope (so no force pulling me as I'm doing the trick).
If I'm supposed to let the boat pull me as I'm doing the trick what way should I lean because the if I'm straight up the boat will pull me when I'm facing backwards causing my body to go towards the boat and when I bring it around I'll faceplant hard.
Any ideas? |

cut in the same as you would for a w2w, and wait before you spin, spinning off the wake makes it harder to stay on axis and get the handle pass _________________ The consciousness of self is the greatest hindrance to the proper execution of all physical action.

I wait a long time and am can do very very late 360's on skis. I go in hard, pop and wait, spin but when I'm half way around the boat pulls me off axis.
My question is should I have spun all the way around and not felt the pull as I'm doing the spin or am I supposed to feel the pull as I'm spinning. |

You shouldn't feel boat pull until you grab the handle with the other hand....
POP, PULL (with both hands) then Pass, this is when the boat will help you complete the rotation and finish the trick for you.
The hardest part of the 360 is making the handle pass, once you do that the trick is done.
Do us all a favor, don't talk about ski's, thanks.

I had the same problem last year. I could not get the handle pass for the life of me. The biggest thing that helped me was PULLING the handle to my back hip right as i was leaving the wake. This takes alot of tension out of the rope, allowing you to make the handle pass without having to "fight" the boat.

to help from getting pulled off axis suck your knees up to your chest like your trying to ball up this will also help you grag it alot earlier in your progression _________________ crashin big only hurts when you crack your cheek bone on tantrums, otherwise its all good!!! |
