I have just got my W2Ws down, and my front (left) knee has been hurting since I started landing. It started hurting the other day when I was still landinghalf on , half off the wake. Anyhow... do any of you use a sports brace, and if so what kind works well for support, lightweight, water friendly, etc.

Vampyre, I find landing half on/ half off the wake to be really hard on the body- knees and back specifically. You may want to shorten your rope and/or speed up so you're not landing there anymore. I would see a doctor before getting a brace. Braces are mostly intended to prevent the knee from twisting and other lateral movements. If you're landing on the wake your knees are absorbing the upwards shock and maybe that's what's causing the knee pain- a brace doesn't really do anything for vertical movements.
....but I'm not a doctor! |

I would think that a Neoprene with a patellar stabilizer (a hole for your knee cap) would be a good choice. This will keep everything tracking properly so thet when you slam your weight down and heavily load your patellar tendon things don't collide that aren't supposed to.
That being said the pain is an indicator that you are overstressing your knee. Eventually this increased stress will lead to an overuse injury that may bug you for a long time. Your best bet is to change how you land to reduce the impact of the landing. Others can better tell you how to do that than I can.
Also braces should only be used during the aggrivating activity. Using a brace all of the time will lead to weakness and more instability, possibly resulting in a severe injury.
