well i made these in about 4 hours each including paint. first was the orange one, secured by u bolts through a vertical fiberglass wall and in the back with 4"x12" plates screwed to the floor. second is secured by 4 small 3"x%" plates on the sill with my homemade quick disconects and a trailer ball on top. anyone wants dimensions or detailed pics just ask. btw this pic is of the boats in upstate ny on lake sagandaga, amazing riding and tons of room.

Haha...I've got that exact same conduit bender at my work. So I'm guessing you used pipe rather than tubing?

I used the same bender to make the one below. Mine's aluminum. A buddy here at work, made basically the same design, only out of conduit and powdercoated it. (way cheaper than mine).

A little flex side to side. But I'm good with it. I might add, that by the time it was all said and done, I spent about 700. Not much cheaper than a monster. But my bimini fits under mine. And, well, I built it myself.

I'm right there with ya man - way better to build something yourself and take a little pride in your accomplishments. I figured you prolly had some flex with only the single crossmember on the verticals. Probably not enough to cause any problems but you might want to take it off the boat periodically to check for cracks in the gel coat. If you found some, as much as it would suck to have to do, you could cut out the single crossmember and replace it with two - one as close to the bottom bend and the other about a foot above where the current one is.

No can do my friend...tower is made to break down. another cross piece would eliminate the ability to take it down to put it in the garage. But I think it's fine the way it is. Been boarding behind it all season...it's good.
