hey guys, i recently downloaded the adobe premiere program for editing my videos. anyway when i open a video file how do i cut it into separate clips? also when i play the clips in the timline they are very jumpy and bad quality

ok got the separating clips bit now why the $h!t does the quality turn 2 crap when i play the timeline?

I havnt worked on premiere for a long time... but if I remember right, you need to render it.

Wait... actually, what version of premiere are you using?

yeah - what version are you using - In the newest version it will render on the fly, but it takes some time to compile the video - you will see a progress bar in the bottom right of thescreen - if that is still there it will look jumpy....also if you are doing a ton of trnasitions or other effects I have noticed that I still need to render it to make it look right.

Hit the ENTER button to start rendering.. if it doesn't play immediately after then hit the SPACE bar.

its choppy when you preview it in the little window probably because of low ram/cpu power. without rendering it, it'll be choppy.
