Push down on back foot, but then you have to lift your front foot up, followed by your back foot. However don't get your back foot higher then your front foot or you'll end up with water behind your eyeballs... God i hate that feeling.

I am basically a novice rider and had trouble getting any decent height on my ollie's. After watching the book I have no trouble. If you edge out hard, flatten off and then pop the ollie by pushing down on your back foot and leveling out the board when in the air, you shouldn't have too much trouble. Edging out gives you speed and the faster you are going through the water the harder it becomes and easier to pop the ollie.

Get the Book. Or just get the Building a Foundation section for $20+. It goes through all the beginner stuff.

i've been wakeboarding for a little over a month now and i when i tried to ollie at first i was just trying to jump. This past weekend I really pushed down on my backfoot and pressed up with my front. I was surprised how much i popped out of the water. My friend did this also and a couple of times his front end just dipped down into the water and faceplanted. I dont know if were doing this right but it seems like it.

when you say press up do you mean just take weight off the front foot i.e. lift front foot?

basically kick down with your back foot, that will force your front foot to rise. level out your back foot with your front (front will already be in the air) and when you land, bend your knees to absorb impact.

like marcuskg said except i raise my front foot. I dont know if this is the right thing to do but it seems like im really popping of the water. Try it but dont let your back foot get higher than your front or you'll nosedive.
