When you are cutting into the wake you can have you knees bent, but once you hit the wake get your legs straight and keep the handle low that should give you a good launch. If that does'nt work youll have to get an extended pylon or a tower. I made an extended pylon for my boat. I found a 7ft piece of iron out of the junkyard and put that over the pylon in the boat. The peice of iron cost 20 bucks and I sanded and painted it and it looks pretty damn sweet.

What kinda boat are you boarding behind

for christ sakes man, read the trick tips section! that'll be the best explanation you will get on progressive edging (which if you haven't figured it out is HOW YOU GET AIR).

trust me, I spent a whole summer wasting people's time in this forum doing the same thing you are, so just study up on the tip sections. Try other sites if you have to, I think I found a video that will help on wakeworld. But it shouldn't even come down to that if you read the trick tips here. It's all in the edge.

I don't want to sound like a dick but the noobie form had like 5 topics on this exact issue and it's been answered correctly.

NH, of course some people are still new the the forum, like you said. That's exactly why Go_Ride is helping you learn how to efficiently navigate this site by visiting the tips section before asking for help in a new thread. Perhaps he was a little irritated by the fact that he's seen the same question 5 times a day for the past few weeks as he is trying to help people who are new the the sport, but I'm sure he meant no personal offense to you. You don't have to get aggressive, that just get's everyone mad at you and certainly dosen't help your reputation on the forums. Why not just thank him for the advice and go check out what he said, right?

NHWakeRider, it is the trick tip section but the help your looking for is more on a noobie issue, jumping isn't so much a trick it's more of a fundamental. Here is a link for you. http://forums.wakeboarder.com/viewtopic.php?t=46339
I hope that this will answer all your questions

Sorry to come off a little harsh there man, I'm as much as a newb as you are and I had no right in doin that...

Hope you figured it out though, the videos at wakeworld helped me out quite a bit when this site couldn't quite get me to figure it out.

ok so in an effort to finally just answer this post and let the post fall away for a new post, let me see if I can explain this.

The trick tip section will explain to you that you are like a pendulum on a clock behind the boat. The progressive edge is what will get you air...If you can master this you will be on your way (but do not worry if you do not get it right away, some people struggle on this). So going back to the pendulum I mentioned earlier, basically the pendulum has the most speed at the bottom of the swing which is when you will be hitting the wake. The pendulum has the least amount of speed at the top of its swing, which is where you start, thus it gains speed as it swings down, and you gain speed as you head toward the wake.

Start out from the boat about 10 - 15 feet. Let yourself slow down a little and bend your knees...this is known as the ready position. Next take the handle and put it as close to your front hip as possible, with both hands on the handle begin putting pressure on your heelside edge which will turn you in toward the wake. Once you are heading toward the wake keep putting more edge on your heelside and keep getting a harder edge all the way to the top of the wake. This creates tension in the rope and will help you to get air.

As you get to the wake you will have a huge amount of tension in the rope, which is good. As you get to the bottom of the wake begin to straighten your legs out, so that you are straight at the top of the wake. This is because if you do not have straight legs you will absorb the pop from the wake with your knees. There you go you should now be airborn. Once you are in the air, spot your landing for a second and edge away from the boat harder than you started.

Hope this helps.
