Hey i am looking at getting a used Sony High 8 cam for pretty cheap. I was just wondering if this cam would have the capabilities to be hooked to my comp to make /edit vids. Also if anyone has experience with these if they could give me there thoughts. Thanks

| Sean, I just got a digital camcorder, so I will be selling my Hi-8 as soon as I get my old tapes copied over to vhs or something. The hook up on mine only has RCA out, and S-Video, so if you have the right kind of media card on your computer, that will work. Otherwise, I think (but I'm not sure) that there are Hi-8 camcorders with USB ports on them. That may be what you want to get. |

| Sean, the Hi8 video camera is an analog camera so you'll need a capture card like a Dazzle or Pinnacle. There's another thread about editing video using an analog camera that should answer your questions. |
