I thought this was an interesting little thread. I fully support BOTH sites, although most of my spare time is on Wakeboarder. I think in general the people are nicer as a whole and I could care less about poo jokes. Hell, I'll tell a few. Other than that I think it's stupid to try and belittle one site because you think the one you visit is better.

i originally posted on wakeworld but sometime, last august i think, there was a link to a thread on wakeboarder.com and i checked this site out. i havent made many posts on wakeworld since then. i like this site better because it gets a lot more traffic and there's a lot more TX people on here. it is also more laid back (i think they call it immaturity at wakeworld.) however, i do still use wakeworld regularly to check out the board and binding reviews.

Yes, I've noticed and heard from many people who like to make fun of Wakeboarder.com on Wakeworld.

Their complaints seem to be that people here are immature, and the complaints also seem to center around the non-wakeboarding forum. The simple answer is that if you don't want to read about non-wakeboarding stupid stuff, don't read the non-wakeboarding forum, where that tends to occur. Otherwise, I find the discussion in the rest of the forums to be very on-topic and useful.

Perhaps the overall audience here is younger, I'm not sure. I don't read Wakeworld's forums unless someone points me to something I should check out like the thread above, so I really don't know how the forums compare.

I'm always looking to improve our forums though regardless, so if anyone has any actionable suggestions, I'd welcome them.

I go to wakeworld as much as I go here. The only thing is, I don't post there too often. I find that the regulars there are a bit stuffy, and like to keep everything to serious for my tastes. And, quite a few times I have been attacked on my opinions, thoughts, and useful information that I have posted. I choose to post here because everyone seems to get along, and/or have a sense of humor for that matter....so it just makes it a bit nicer to get on the internet and b/s with people that you have things in common with. I'm over the attitude, and "I know it all" mentality. I get on here to have fun, as well as, interract with the people who make my job possible! If it were'nt for wakeboarders, and wakeboarding...I know I would be leading a totally different life.

Thank you Pat for a wonderful, informative, and amusing site! I don't know how i'd survive the winter months in a wake shop without your awesome site!

I use to go to WW more often and used to like it but once i really got into wakeboarding i started coming here and liked it alot more. The format here is alot cooler to.

I went to wakeworld for about a month , then i went to a search engine under wakeboarding , found wakeboarder and havent posted since on ww.

That thread is pretty amusing... I love how they say that they have to sift through a bunch of useless posts (from 14 year olds trying to get 1000 posts) to find useful information. Is it just me, or do all of the back-and-forth posts where people rack up the count happen in the non-wake forum where you normally wouldn't be looking for useful information? Something to think about...

I used to visit both sites about the same, but I enjoy the atmosphere of this site a lot more now. I still visit WW from time to time, but it's just to read... I rarely post. I prefer this site, but both sites have their own positive qualities. I see no reason to be loyal to one site and one site only.... it's not like they're two countries at war with each other. They're simply two different websites, both of which happen to be wakeboarding specific...

Yeah-I think a few of the older regulars on WW are very territorial. It seems like they get really annoyed that someone may come into their territory and try and contribute. I used to post on there-but, most of the regulars did not want to help people with questions if they did not know them and they would just make rude comments!

I do not see anything competitive between the sites, just people enjoying the sport and sharing information!

Also, I talked to Dave about it this past weekend and he did not agree of course, but he feels the WW boards are starting to police themselves!

SCBrips, Oh-sorry, I just re-read my post and see that it was a bit confusing. What we talked about was that The Wakeworld Discussion Board is very competitive and territorial! He did not totally agree and clarified that he did not view a competition between both sites, in which I totally agree.

To clarify my point (previous post content)-why would anyone on that site post a topic like this?

Both sites are great and offer great information. Why not share it equally without the animosity?

There seems to be alot more bickering on ww. I visit both sites but don't post as much on ww, It's a great site but alot of the elders seem to think they are the governing body of anything related to wakeboarding. When did it become a crime to have fun on the internet.

Pat has a great site here, I know cuz I have been using it for over 3 years now. It has it's moments like everything in this world were it could be better but for the most part the few bad apples don't spoil the bunch..

Ahhhh...smell the irony. You take offense at being called immature, so you lash out by calling your detractors snobs, rude, etc.? Is that mature?

WakeWorld rules. Most of the people I ride with I met there. Many of the regulars on WW are middle-aged professionals. I have more in common with them than I do with most people who post here. Does that make me better than you? More snobbish than you? More conceited than you? I don't think so. It just means I'm not 14 anymore.

I post on both, but most people seem to be most comfortable on one or the other. So? What's the problem? What does a 35-year-old attorney have in common with a 15-year-old student? Not much. If you're into talking about who to take to the prom, there's a place for you; if you're into debating the political and social ramifications of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, there's a place for you, too. It's a ying/yang kinda thing.

After surfing both sites for over a year now, I can honestly say that I really like both sites and have gained alot of useful and useless knowledge from both. I just browse mostly on ww but post more on here. Also, WB tends to be more of a nationwide site, where as WW has alot of Cali riders...which is cool. I just like to ride, talk to riders, and meet people....I don't care which site Very Happy

I gotta agree with the WW guys....this sight IS a bit more on the immature side...which is why I am here more than there.

Plus, this site gets more traffic and has more Texans.
