I'm a newb and I was gettin to the point where I was nearly clearing the wake. i then went and bought a LF Balance 05. Is this gonna affect my learning process greatly or do think I'll get used to it? The previous board was a continious rocker Double Up Soul Series.

Notorious, I'm at about the same skill level as you and I'm having the same questions about boards... please let me know if the advanced board hurts or helps your performance.

I find the LF board tracks alot better and carves better than my first board but it is a lot less forgiving when attempting tricks. As for landings I can't comment as yet but i'll keep you posted.

Notorious, thanks for the info, that makes me feel more comfortable about buying an intermediate/advanced board.

The new board you purchased will take some time getting used to as you are still learning...( when i say learning you know what i mean but we are all learning) Anywho...The new board will help with more advanced techniques...Have fun with it and get on the water as much as possible...peace

Most every board rides different and you need to make a decision to adapt to the board or you need to find a board that fits your style better. A better board won't hurt you, but remember not to push past your skill level or you can hurt yourself. Don't try throwing tricks that you are not ready to throw. a better board will allow you to progress a bit faster assuming conditions will allow ie. water, boat, etc
