because when people play that fantasy crap they stop rooting for teams and just for individual stats, so if fantasy ever gets too big, who knows, maybe people will just play with the attitude that their personal stats are more important than the accomplishments of the team. |

Jeff206,
Thanks bro. A few years ago I went over to a friends to watch Chicago Green Bay. It was for first place. Big game in Chicago. My friends would not stop changing channels because of their f in fantasy. I had to get up and leave to watch the entire game.
They don't care about teams or rivalries any longer. Just their stats. Annoying to watch football with people in fantasy. IMO _________________ www.integrity-wake.com |

Jeff206, I don't think it will actually affect the game. I mean the players are playing to win. They can't get individual stats unless the team is doing well.

I realize it probably won't have much of an effect on the way the games are played but it does change the reason and the way people watch sports to something that I think is less admirable |

As much as I would love for USC to be the dominating force , I have reservations with their ability this year.
I haven't really been following what else has happened in the off season except for losing Norm Chow and Co. _________________
8824, dude - I suck. You were right.
. |

How about them vols.
Yeah about the SEC teams having 4 in the top 10. There is now way they will have that many by the end of the year (I maybe wrong) because unike other conferences their is real competition and they beat eachother out of the National Champion ship race.

Muck the reason I love college football
1. The passion and the love of the game that (most) the players play with.
2. Living and dieing (SP) with the team.
3. If you lose you are out of the running.
4. Good chance to hang with friends and family.
5. Going to the games is a whole other story here.
6. You should try to not to enjoy nearly 110,000 screaming fans and all the noise.
one last thing I don't like them playing music on the speakers. The band is there for a reason.
Go Vols
Just found this and thought it was pretty cool.

I am ready for any kind of football. Wether high school, college or pros. I'd have to say that high school gives me more passion for the game than any level. After watching my high school win its firts state title last year, and witnessing a 14 point comeback in less than two minutes (against one of our rivals) after not doing anything offensively the entire game I would much rather watch High School ball. But the rivalry game between Michigan and Ohio State is extremly hard to beat, considering it usually decides what team goes to a major bowl game. _________________ RIP DLS.

reggie mcneal > vince young
represent mutherf*cker!!!
seriously though, vince young is one HELL of a runner. do you think he'll be as effective without benson in the backfield. that option handoff thing from shotgun has unstopable last year. especially with our weak ass takeling (we=aggies). anyways i'm definatly looking forward to the season.
one last note. reggie mcneal is BETTER than vince young. if reggie had a running game and an o line like vince he'd be the returning hiesman winner. |

chip & wakechick - Yeah, saw the "real" definition of Hokie, but I'm just going off what the alumni here at work said. But, hey getting people fired up is what college sports are all about. Rivalries. Similarly, that whole War Eagle thing with Auburn always confused me, too. Growing up, I thought they just had two mascots.
But, anyway, can't wait for the season to start. |

Vince Young is good (it pains me to even admit that), but he's not that great. Although I believe the Horn's are finally gonna get the Sooner's this year. The Husker's will win 1 more game than last year, which will total to 8 wins. But the '06-'07 season.....National Champs. |

Go Ohio State! I remember being a Buckeye fan growing up, but that first time walking into a packed Horseshoe was crazy. I still keep an eye on my undergraduate alma mater BGSU. Anybody see the spread in this months ESPN magazine? I really liked the "rolling hills of Ohio", I guess the writer has never made it to Northwest Ohio
We tailgate quite a bit for the Buckeyes, and for those 3 o'clock and later starts we get up for some glass on Sat. morning and still make it down to tailgate _________________ - "Hurry up and finish your wine so we can go get us some milkshakes " - |

We're not the only ones that think that too.

Preview 2005 Unit Rankings ... Quarterbacks
3. Texas A&M
It's a great situation with a superstar in Reggie McNeal ready to enter the status to be considered among the elite of the elite college players. He was a bit overshadowed playing in the same division as Jason White, Vince Young and Sonny Cumbie last year, but now he'll be in the limelight. Ty Branyon is a talented backup and can step in and keep the offense rolling if McNeal goes down. He's a good competitor and fine passer. Stephen McGee is a rising number three.
4. Texas
Vince Young is unquestionably one of college football's best players, but the weight of Longhorn Nation will be on his shoulders without a Cedric Benson to hand off to. He has been around long enough to be the leader and a better passer looking to build on the strong end to 2004. The backup situation is iffy with Matt Nordgren going from career emergency quarterback to the number two job. Considering how much Young will run, Nordgren will have to stay sharp. The soap opera with top recruit Ryan Perrilloux, who originally committed to Texas before leaving for LSU, left the bag empty without any talented young quarterbacks waiting in the wings, but help is on the way with a great looking 2006 recruiting class. The rating would be higher if the backups were better.

I'm really looking forward to this season but next year and the year after we're going to dominate the Big XII. Fran has done a great job of recruiting. It just takes time. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

What happens then? All the Hokie fans recover from the Sept 4 whipping by NC State and start thinking about how they can still make it to the K-Mart Tidy Bowl?
Figure you probably meant the 4th, but I couldn't resist. |

I have no doubt in my mind about our quarterbacks, yes even the backup is awesome! If the backup is hurting our rating the is rediculous, Nordgren can run and throw, we will be just fine if he has to go in for Vince!! Whoever said that Reggie is better must have serious issues, well i guess thats true of most aggies!! HOOK EM HORNS!!! 2005 National Champs!!! |
