Hi, I'm new to wakeboarding and I bought a Liquid Force Evo 138 the other day. I'm a big guy 6"3 and 240 pounds. The guy at the shop said that the 138 will work, as they didn't have 142's in stock. Just trying to clarify if he is correct?

That's pretty small for your size. I'm 210 and I ride a 143. Can you ride it? Sure. Is it ideal? No. If it were me I'd take it back and order something bigger.

6'2, 210 and i ride a 143. My brother is 5'9 180 and also prefers a 143.

I would go back and try and get a bigger board, unless youre in salt water which is more bouyant and you can probably get away with the smaller board.

yeah, i am 6' 1" 150lbs. and i ride a 140 i also say take it back and get something bigger. You could ride it, but i think it would limit you.

this is an approximate scale that i tend to go by when someone comes into the shop i work at. this isnt in ANY way a concrete chart because a lot of board size is left up to personal preference. think of this as an approximate point of departure if youre new and wanna find the size that is approximately correct for you.

150lbs~135cm
180lbs~138cm
200lbs~140cm
220lbs~142cm

and when in doubt always go for the bigger size.

you dont necessarily need a smaller board...the whole point of getting a certain size is so that it is able to float you above the water. you can still ride a bigger board if you want to because its all personal preference. remember that what i threw up there is a VERY loose guide to what size you might want to take a look at. if youre 115 you can still ride a 135 board.

and i'd say 160 is the max weight on a 135 before you should move up to a 136 or so.

also remember that not every board comes in every size, so if you want a certain board you might have to move up 5 cm's.
