Saw the article on the front page about the Malibu XTi winning the Powerboat Magazine award and was wondering if anyone has one or has ridden behind one?
Whats it like? |

I've ridden in and behind last years 23' XTi, and I really liked it. It had a very rampy wake, and was a bit harder to weight down due to it's size, but very roomy and lots of storage. The new 21' is built on the wakesetter hull and is supposed to be way better. Wakesetter wake, easier to weight down, and D-Drive performance. Although I personally like the open layouts of the V-drive boats better. _________________ Sattelyte Wakeskates

| I rode behind the 21xti about a month ago. It has an almost identical wake to the VLX. The only difference is the 21xti does'nt have as much stock ballast, so we had to weigh it down a bit more to achieve the same wake results. Other than that, it is a sweet ride! |

Hey Kyle is there places in the XTI to put water based weight or do you use lead or fat sacs on the seats? _________________ Niiiiiiiiice |

Ralph,
The XTI 21 has one ballast tank in the floor storage compartment. The XTI 23 has three ballast tanks (one in the floor, two in the stern storage compartment.) Plus, both boats come with Malibu's wedge. |

Ralph, the day I rode behind it was on a tournament lake for one...so the lake was only 5- feet deep at it's deepest. We demoed it for a day, and just loaded it with sacks. If I remember correctly, We filled stock MLS which was 700-800# I think??? I could be wrong??? Then we put a 600# up front, 600# on the back seat, and a 400# on the rear facing back seat....and of course the wedge was down.
A bit of overkill, but we were trying to make the best wake we could in such a shallow lake,
Overall, the wake was great! Very similar to the VLX in a deep lake with a bit less weight... Ihad a hard time getting good vert pop off the wake like I do behind a VLX, but I really think it was the body of water that we were in??? I want to ride behind one in deeper water...I think it would be insane!
I REALLY liked the heelside D-ups that it was throwing that day, though I never pulled one all day! If you ever get the chance, let Greg Nelson drive for you...he can definately drive a double up.... |

hmmm, the whole point of the xti is the roomy feel kinda takes the point out of it to have sacs all over the seats. Greg designs a hellva board, I'm sure he can drive a little too. _________________ Niiiiiiiiice |

| What kind of price could you get a 21 XTi for? Not sticker price, but realistic price out the door? |
