Ok I have read all the old threads and I don't have enough extra cash with gas being 3 bucks a gallon and the new boat payment. I guess this year I will give a shot at DIY tubs and lights. Please everyone give me your stories and how you bought materials and anything I need to avoid.

I am in the same BOAT as you itch. I liked the PVC ones the best so far: http://forums.wakeboarder.com/viewtopic.php?t=43542&highlight=pvc+speaker
As long as I can locate the special paint for this.
I am very curious for a revisit to this topic

Basicly there's not much to it.

Stay away from Sched. 80. Its heavy and costs more.
I found that Lowes by my place carries 6" DWV fittings which is the same as sched 40. I think I have about 4 feet of sched 40 pipe. I would be happy to ship you a couple feet of it if you pay the shipping. Thats about all you'll need. Just enough to hold a coupling and cap together and a little for the front where the speaker is mounted. PM me if interested itch.

Vampyre, I'll have to check, but I might have enough for 2 sets if you need it too.

This way you guys dont have to buy a 10' piece and have the rest laying around. I really cant think of anything around the house that would need 6" PVC Confused
