Differnt Board Sizes, Need Help Quick

I have a 143 board right now, and I weigh about 170 lbs. I am looking at buying a 141. Would I be able to tell much of a difference between the two?

you'll not notice the length difference as much as the change in type of board.

Could you elaborate this on this a little bit? Type of Board? Right now I am riding a Connely Dully 143. It seems like it is way too long. I believe it is fairly old, and we need to replace it. What materials are there/should I be looking for?
