iv been having a bit of trouble getting any height on my ts wake jumps, i can get w2w but i just dont feel in control, and i feel like i get tripped when i hit the wake. i can actually get ts w2w 180s better than i can just go w2w. but i want to have a solid launch before i start other ts tricks.
help? |

| i've said it in another thread...i can't really get much control on a ts w2w jump most of the time and i am tossing my back arm around to keep balance a lot. ican do it 180 wiithout problem...so try to do a ts fs 180 and you will probably see a difference. |

nooooooooooooooo
you want your ts jumps to be a mirror of your hs jumps, it feels awkward facing away from the boat but after you get used to it you see that getting good ts jumps is just like getting good hs jumps.
the one thing that took me a bit to realize is that i wasn't extending my legs at the wake so i wasn't jumping off of it, i was just gliding across. come in with a good progressive edge just like your heelside jumps and make sure to jump off the wake with even weight on both feet, and you want to be leaning over your toes on the takeoff and landing. i see lots of people land parallel to the boat when they land cuz they dont wana land on their toes and they end up getting slack and eating stuff, or it they ride away but it looks ugly.
just like heelside, you want to concentrate on these things...
progressive edge... it's sometimes hard to start the edge slow and soft on TS because it's different, but make sure not to cut in abruptly and then stop edging and flatten out through the wake. just like heelside jumps, you want to load the line for maximum pop.
remember to stand tall... it's easy to forget to stand tall when you're learning toeside but it is sooooo important for getting kicked up high off the wake.
and one more time... remember to keep weight over your toes the whole time, especially when landing, or else you could be in for a rough ride.
i'm not a big expert at wakeboarding but i've been concentrating on my toesides and now im just as good at them as my heelsides... workin on a scarecrow now. _________________ signatures are lame |

| what exactly does everyone mean in saying"load the line"? is it actually attaching the rope differently? |

| When you load the line, it means you keep all of the tension in the rope and not let it slack to help pop you off the wake |

Does it help to only use one hand?
I get a decent edge and good air, but the board starts to turn toward the boat. |

Edge and pop with both hands on the handle. Then after your airborne, you can drop the trailing hand if you want, but its not necessary. See what works for you. If you drop your trailing arm, be prepared to lose some tension unless you REEEEAAAALLLLYYYY keep your front arm in. _________________ Long Island, NY & Canada Lake, NY (addirondacks)

| Bron Yr Aur, I have the same issue - decent edge and air but most of the time end up turning toward the boat and untwisting...any tips to change this? |

Fergie, if you are turning toward the boat landin, sounds like you are landing on your heals, that will pull you around to the boat, need to land on the toes,
I've been told to let the rear hand go, and point your left thumb down to the water, to encourage your shoulder to help rotate over your toes
same thing on a heel side 180, need to land on your toes |

| i think ts w2w and hs 180s as the same landing i let go with my back hand, and i usually land in the flats somewhat, so i absorb with my knees and try to continue to edge out. i have had problems of rolling over when i land and smashing my face in the water, but i got used to it and i dont do that as much any more, so just try and remember to keep edging. |
