pylons vs. towers

So my dad bought a pylon for our boat, since it isnt a wakeboarding boat. We were looking into getting a tower but they were more expensive and way harder to install. Ive never ridden a behind a boat with a tower, but how much different would it be from my 6 foot pylon assuming I would be behind the same boat?

I wouldn't think you would notice a difference riding behind it. Where you will notice it is that the tower wont get in your way on the boat. Also a tower has a lot more room for more speakers.

I have a 94 bayliner.. 20 ft, there are universal pylons? if so how much do they go for and where is the best spot to buy one.

Would I be drilling into by boat?.. if thats the case would it be stong enough to pull up to a 215 pound guy?

Difference between a pole and tower from the point of the pull? - I doubt there is much difference that anyone under very advanced would notice. From my experience the difference is between the higher pull from a tower or a pole compared to the pull from an ordinary low ski tow. The high point of attachment will make som edifference. However, it will not make you suddenly jump high and far - that is technique!

for the bigair pylons the best place to buy em is bigairpylons.com(obviously) and i think u'd want the slip on one not the universal b/c u could just slide it over the one u got.

AirProfile, Again, running your mouth about what you don't know.

It's simple physics, and a 5 page thread if you search for it. If the tow point is the same, the pull will be the same. The only swaying from a physics standpoint would be the pylon physically bending. I've never seen a pylon do that.

Pylons work great, towers are better for getting stuff up off the floor, aesthetic purposes (if you like how towers look on boats..) bimini exc.
