I just picked up an amplified bass tube overseas for my boat. The unfortunate part is that the instructions have very little engilsh so I am not sure about how to install it. My present system that came with the boat is a head unit (with 2 sets of RCA out put, of which one set goes to a jensen amp), the Jensen amp and two jensen maine 5 1/4 " speakers. I purchased the tube as a way to help improve the bass in my system. My questions are:

1. Can I install the bass tube with my amp or does it replace the amp?

2. How to connect the tube up properly? I have attached a photo of the rear of the tube where the connections are located.

Thanx

You can use it with your current amp.

Plug in the rca's. Hook the ground to a ground, the +12v to the battery, and the remote to the remote (usually blue w/ white stripe) on the back of your deck. The wires in the picture are a bit small for my liking, wire that size is fine for the remote but for the juice I would use like 10 ga. for that thing. Oh and don't forget to use an inline fuse close to the battery.

Ya just plug the other set of free RCA's on your HU into this thing and follow twitch's wiring. Set the LPF/Full switch to LPF. Keep the LPF dial where it is for now and maybe back it down a hair when you tune in the bass. Gain (Level) should be put all the way down to start and then once you get your stereo going at the normal level you listen to try to adjust it to that.

Job is complete and what a difference in sound. Not the greatest system on the lake, however, much better than before.

Thanks for the help.

i did the same on my boat. i didn't want to spend a lot of money but i wanted more low end. i found a bass tube for $10 at the local auto shop. i hooked it up to my amp that powered the tower speakers, and what a difference it makes. the best $10 i ever spent. Smile
