I agree with ballywho, I find it really hard to believe that you were just trying to clear the wake and "out of nowhere" came the tantrum. Tantrums require good base skills along with good form... they dont come out of nowhere.

I know people, whose ONLY trick is the Tantrum. They can do HS W2W Tindy grabs and a few other pokes but have NO skills TS or skillz to progress further for that matter. We call him HS Johnny!

skrogh, I guess the real question is, say you did land a Tantrum first day out. How far have you progressed since then????
I would have to assume not very far as doing a TS or HS 3 will require way more skill than a Huck and Luck invert like the Tantrum...

I call BUll fiddlesticks also!!!!!

rock_lobster, If you THINK you are ready then go for it, confidence plays a big part when tryn inverts. Of course if you have no skills you will pay 10 fold during the learning process.

its not that i'm good at ts, but i'm just more comfortable doing spins on my ts. i cant even do a hs 180, but i'm alot more comfortable going higher and doing w2w's on my hs

Not to just go against the grain but, while it is really unlikely, I was watching a show where Laird Hamilton was learning to wakeboard an he nailed a front roll on one of his first tries. He is probably one of the most hardcore people ever though.
