|
|
Okay, so I have an idea on how to make my own board bag. this is what I am thinking: it will have two sleeves for the backs of my bindings. then two dry pockets on the back side. Two back packs straps. I know it will cost me just as much as buying one but this one will customized just for my board and I can also put any logos or whatever I want on it.
Anybody have any suggestions or experience with this? |

Looks fine... Do you know how to sew? Cuz i sure as hell dont... thats gonna be one helluva project, but should be easy once you get the hang of it.
Once you get done with that... you should be able to make yourself some boardshorts!
You might want to find a place that will sell you all the stuff before you dive in though... Your gonna need zippers(plastic or metal?), some sort of breathable fabric, then some waterproof fabric, what are you gonna do about backpack straps?
Oh yeah... are you going to have any sort of padding? cuz if you are, that adds a whole nother element to the bag...
just thinking about it makes my head hurt. Good luck to ya! _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/damoncall/

LOL I know. Well I can't sew zippers but I know a guy who will do that for me. As far as being waterproof and the padding inside....My mom said that we have some sort of blanket deal that doesn't absorb water, I was gonna use that for the inside of the pockets and put little drain holes in it and same for the inside of the bag. i was gonna double layer the actuall bag and put stuffing in it like a pillow kinda. And definitely Metal zippers. The backpack straps...I was going to just cut the ones off of my old back pack and sew them on it. basically I think that it would just super sweet to have sleeves for my bindings to go into and a pocket for my lube/rope/extras screws and fins/screwdrivers and such. _________________ Holly Bay All The Way! |

I don't know for sure. She said its some kinda sheet or something that they take to swim meets. She said you can sit down on it and it doesn't absorb water. If that won't work then I am sure I can find somehitng that would work _________________ Holly Bay All The Way! |

I know that this doesn't relate to making a bag, but WWW.Evogear.com has LF bags for $30. I don't know if you could buy the materials and zippers for less than that.
Anyway good luck. _________________
