OK i have read all of the other threads on cries for help with this, figured i could get it but haven't yet. Here are some questions... People say hold the edge through the wake, and i have also heard that your legs should be straight when you hit the wake. How can i hold the edge through the wake with my legs straight? if my legs are straight and i am standing straight up, then the board is flat on the water and the edge is gone right?
Handle location at the hips right? should it be at the hips from the beggining of my cut towards the wake or should i be pulling the handle into the hips as i approach the wake to build more speed? also, do i hold the handle at the hips until i land?
boat speed, how much does this have to do with how far i am going to fly?
thanks in advance for any help.

Cut as far out as possible and then use your momentum to cut in as hard and fast as possible
have knees bent like in wakeboarding position
the handle is usually supposed to be bye ur hips
u have your legs stright or locked (people say locked leads to knee problems) while you hit the wake this way your knees don't absorb the jump,
boat speed as long as your going over 17 you can do it faster=easier(but need more skill)
peace out

| when you are on edge you can straghtn your legs, it doesn't mean stand up straight, it means jsut extend your legs and stiffenthem to getr the pop off the wake. |

AirProfile, that's incorrect. You don't need to cut out "as far as possible" and cut in "as hard and fast as you can".
You will learn on your own how far out you need to be and how hard you need to cut. At first it will probably be easier to cut out further, and start your cut in to the wake slower, bulding speed very gradually.
The legs thing- if you are sitting in a chair with your knees bent at a 45 degree angle, and only your heels touching the ground, you can still extend your legs and not be flat. Same as when you're wakeboarding.
Handle location- yes, you want the handle a couple inches away from your front hip on the cut and when you pop off the wake. Depending on how you may need to correct your jump while in the air, you will move the handle around. Hard to explain, but i really don't need to; It's pretty instinctive.
Boat speed- generraly, the faster you go, the skinnier the wake will be. You may want to lengthen the rope if you increase speed. It does some things to the wake too..... i'm not the one to explain it though. _________________

Have you checked out the Trick Tips for Beginners section
Here's a link to the HS edge with video:

The part about starting the edge as the boat naturally pulls you in helped me. Also increasing your boat speed to 25mph if you are going slower will help. _________________ most authors of novels regarded as classics are dead, classic novels are, therefore, most likely to be written by dead people |

Airprofile, you have no idea what you're talking about ever really. Consistently bringing other people down with personal insults, and then to top it off you give terrible advise, take credit for other people's work. Please STFU and leave until you've grown up a bit. Your constant bitching/attacking is not wanted around here. _________________ wakeboards
