| just throw the trick you want to do the way you see it easiest done, and if you fall then you correct your mistakes and do it a little different to get closer to landing it. |

go get a feel for the rotation and stuff on the tramp then go out there and right before you cut in just say "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger" and then try it _________________ www.soswakeboard.com

| You need to just throw it. Do it over and over, even if you fall. The more you do it the less you'll be scared of it. At that point you'll worry more about what you're doing wrong then 'what's going to happen to me' |

I hear people reccomending trampoline practice, but for me I would be more scared going for something on a tramp because if you make a mistake you could land face first on the tramp, or you could possibly land on the ground. It just seems like bailing on water will hurt a lot less. I don't know. _________________ <img></img> |

| well at 22 mph catching your toe edge hurts more than a tramp fall usually. but you are right i would try it on the water before the tramp, i jut use the tramp to practice in the off season. |

| just throw it. i have noticed that once i throw it and wreck, its nothing to get up and try again. but if you work it up into something big when its not, you'll have a harder time throwing it in the first place. |

i tried a HS backroll about 4 times this past weekend, (though I thought it was just a backflip)..i get the differences mxed up...
anyways, how i got rid of the fear was to just go out and do it..over the weekend i was doing backflips all wkend after a few drinks to loosen me up (I'm not saying do this before you go out wakeboarding) but I did it to get over the fear...Now I know I can do them anywhere, it's just landing them on my board is what i have to work on..
it's like NIKE, just do it!
btw, what'd he hit his head on? the water? if so, that sh&T is going to happen..I got my bell rung about 3 times this past weekend trying new tricks.. _________________ JN

Drink beer,
Seriously i just trick myself into trying it. Cut it and as soon as you think uh oh dont do it, just make yourself wait a second and by then you are already in the air |

| im a lot more daring on a wakeboard that a snowboard hehe... anyways.. back to the scared thing.. When i went to do my first invert i didnt know what the hell i was doing but all i knew is i wanted to go upside down.. after i through it i wrecked but not bad and was super excited about not landing on my face and my board actually hitting the water first. So i tryed it a bunch more times. Even after a hard fall i always sack up and try again just so im not all sketchy next time i ride. |

Make yourself do it... unless you really mess it up, it's not going to hurt. unless youre talking about fear of temper tantrums and a-frame gaps etc. youre probably not going to get injured badly.
What trick is it youre scared of? _________________ signatures are lame |

i know how u feel, i was pretty scared of flips, if i wrecked, but then i tryed it and it was one of the softest landings i've ever had for a wreck, all u need is to get the balls to try. once u get around, all fear goes away, unless there is a sharp rock below, hehe |

I am so much more scared of throwing backflips on a wakeboard snowboarding i throw backflips to late 360 over a 50 foot kicker and i didn't think twice about it but i did eat it and roll down the hill about 80 feet crushing my goggles and busting my leg so i couldn't hit the smith limo that was convienently there the next day. . And yet i tried it agian 2 weeks later and landed it but il can't get over the fear of a tantrum or roll. |

to overcome fear of doing inverts for you first time (allthough ive never done one )
1:wear a helmet. it should make you feel more protected, and you wont have to wory about brain damage
2:visualize it. wherever you are. just picture it in your head. step by step.
3:try it on a tramp. if you dont have one, then skip the step.
4:go out and do it. if you have a helmet, you shouldnt be as afraid. youll have a better idea on how to do it from visualization and trampoline. _________________ <CBV>

| ride with people that get you excited and make you want to try new stuff. tell them not to let you back in the boat before you try it, have them call you names, sock you in the face, or whatever until you sack up and do it. |

say f--k it and huck it
face the fear
what doesnt kill you makes you stronger
just go for it man. don't spend too much time thinking about it. learn what youre supposed to do, then go out and try it. the best way to learn something is from experience. and know that if you let fear dictate what you do on a board, youre progression is not going to be what you want it to be. _________________ signatures are lame |
