| when i spin, all i can get out of it is a 360 and i can't do a 540 at all. am i doing it wrong by trying to get more air? i was thinking about this and i think off the wake, i just jump more instead of slide into the spin, like what snowboarders do, they slide into the spin and they can go far. should i do that more than go for air?[/b] |

when spinning you go more with the rope. this is on axis, i'm still working for off axis stuff. when doing tricks like fives heel and toe. if you slide into your spin, you will get tossed off axis. (remember how much fun it was to learn to spin later on your first 3's)
for example if you spin off the wake on a ts 540, although it can be done, it is harder to land. (ie, you go onto your face or really back foot heavy.) just wait untill your AT LEASTt a foot off the water, then spin, you'll get height and the spin. it just floats smoothly that way. |

you need to be able to jump the wake with enough speed to go w2w, but with low enough line tension to really pull yourself around the handle hard. to spin faster/bigger: take the same low tension cut, really stand tall and pop hard with ur legs, and pull/swing yourself around the handle with more force than you used prevoiusly, but more importantly, keep going with it. after the initial pull keep working yourself around the handle until you have enough time to stop the spin and spot the landing. good luck. _________________ Mark Kenney, 1983-2002
