How much weight is usually necessary to notice a big enough difference in wake size to make it worth while? I doubt dad would let me put any more than a 500lb bag in the boat. Would 500lbs. make a big difference? It is generally just mom and dad in the boat, so I don't have much in the way of people weight.

Also, I was planing on filling it for while I ride and emptying it after I'm done to not hurt the gas mileage while just cruising. Would this be a pain-in-the-butt process or is this what most of you do? Any recommendation on good sacs and pumps? I was looking at something like the GetHighSports or LetsGoRide sacs. Anyone have experience with these? Thanks!

Oh, one last thing (sorry)...are the pumps able to get all of the water back out of the sac, or how do you guys keep the remaining water from turning into a Science fair project?

I have a 500 pound fat sac in my 16 foot outboard, it makes the wake about 3 to 4 inches bigger. Check the Flight High fat sacs on overtons.com. They also sell the pump that can empty and fill the sac.

Drifter, I don't have an outboard so I don't know about the wake. I do however use sacs in my boat. I use 4 extra sacs on top of the stock ballast. Even though it eats up the gas mileage I don't empty them when I drive around. The main reason is it takes to long to empty 4 sacs with 1 pump just to drive to a new spot and fill them up again. After I am done for the day then I empty all the sacs and the pump does a pretty good job of getting out all the water. Not all the water will come out and what is left in there you can usually get out by picking up the sac and make sure the opening is the lowest point and then just let the excess water run out.
