I have seen pylons that have a loop that goes around the bow for the front cable. How would you do that on a diy pylon?

You just use the insulated cable available from hardware store and put that around the bow and through the front eyelet. Connect the cable together with the cable clamps.

I would not think the insulated cable should scratch it. It's a clear coating, it should be just fine.

I used ratchet straps. I like the idea of a flat strap having more surface area rather than a cable digging into the hull (or atleast the rub-rail)

GuitsBoy,

Agreed, use ratchet straps. Works well for me.
