on my first 360 attempts today, the boat kept pulling me off axis. I would almost even land it but my nose would dig in when i came around, but at one point during each of my attempts i was pretty much parallel to the water. any tips on taming this trick?

get a smooth pop off the wake. when I learned how to do them at first i was told to START your rotation at the peak of your airtime (halfway across the wake) so it wont throw you off-axis. chances of your problem are probably due to performing the trick too early.

the boat wasnt pulling you off axis. You were probably throwing the spin to early. Its not like (skiing for me, snowboarding for you probably) when you hit a kicker and wind up and spin off it. Approach and pop just like its a normal wake jump, try to get pretty high, jump, and as you get up and begin to peak, pull in. This not only initiates your spin, it also gives the slack in the line that you need to pass the handle without going off axis, this hopefully wil lhlep

Don't spin it off the wake. Take a mellow cut and think of doing a high w2w jump. Pop, and the peak of your jump pull the rope to your side to start the rotation pass it and land. Pop, pull, pass.
