PVC - how do you mount/strengthen it

I made a skate rail a long time ago with PVC just screwed in and hollow, it broke really quick. I'm gona build a rail I want to last, and I want it to be able to take a beating. It's going to be our first slider so it's going to get a little beat up. Do you fill it with stuff or what? and how do you mount it?
