fins breaking?

Im fairly new to wakeboarding and have one odd question. if you do a surface 180 and somehow go sideways for too long, can the fins break off the board? and do less fins make it easier to do surface spins?

They wont break. The pressure is not enough. The fins grab the water so stick your hand length wise in a pool and move it side to side. Then put it width wise and move it side to side is it a lot easier.
