I plan on attemptin a back flip but does the weight of the board make it harder to bring your legs round in time to land?

no, the wake does the work so you can make it around on just about any board as long as the bindings stay on your feet. Its called a tantrum though if you are talking about a hs backflip like on a trampoline.

actually the board does matter a little but. Smaller boards will spin just a tad bit faster, boards with more rocker will also get you more pop off the wake if you konw how to hit it right. but it can be accomplished with any decent board, so go for it man.

There is no such thing as a backflip, it's called a tantrum.

A heavier board will be more beneficial than an underweight board for trip flips, such as the tantrum, so you have no worries. But by the looks of it you should try tricks within your skill level.

Or a backroll.

And the board might feel a little different than another board durring the flip, but it shouldn't have any noticible affect on the trick.
