will this amount of wieght and placement make my wake bigger? will it be worth my money of 250 bucks? this is the most wieight i can get in my compartments... withouth blocking anywalkway, seating, or ski locker where my dad like to keep life jackets, and his water ski's ( Rolling Eyes boring....) they will all be hidden out of sight. Very Happy sorry, i posted this in wrong section of the forums. this belongs under acessories... i think Very Happy

This is pretty much stock on an X-2.

Definatly will make a difference. Try and get a bit more weight up front though - follow the 60:40 rule if it's a V drive - 60 front : 40 back

Just put an extra 80 pounds up front and you'll be at 60:40. You can never have too much ballast. Twisted Evil

60 up front and 40 at back for a V drive because the engine is at the back and a good wake comes from even weight pushing the hull into the water.

If direct drive the engine is in the centre and is very neutral so 40 up front and 60 at back. you dont want too much up front otherwise it is hard to steer and manouver when you pick up a rider plus you are more likely to take on a roller over the bow (been there - killed the stereo)

If you have the engine at the back and 2 fat sacs at the back then the bow will rise, the stern will drop and you will have difficulty seeing over the bow, getting up on the plane, and your engine will labour unnecessarily plus your wake will be washy.

I/Os are different again because you can trim the outdrive in or out to compinsate for poorly positioned ballast/people.

As an "General" rule, weight up front will make your wake rampier, and weight out back will make it steeper. You just have to experiment a little. If money in a concern try one up front and load up the back with a few people and see how that goes. You will more than likely want some ballast, so buying one sac wont break the bank and give you a starting point.
