Try using the search function, before you get flamed.

Perhaps you might start by seeing if you have a board shop in your area, and asking them if you could go out riding with them. If so, give them some gas money, and perhaps they can let you demo a board and give you a "crash" course.

Take a look at the trick tips here, also I recommend purchasing an instructional video. I really liked Waketrix... also Detention , but I like Waketrix better.

Well i just started too. Yesturday was my first time goin out and i got up on the 7th try. We don't have a real fancy boat or anything, and I bought my wakeboad at Kmart Very Happy . I guess it depends on how seriously your gonna be boardin. My boards a Hydroslide Rail Rider and it has great bindings and its pretty light. I'm planning on just upgrading the board as I progress as a rider.

So my advice would be to check wit your local Kmart/ Walmart or boaters world and see what they have. the boards i saw at kmart were somewhere around 100 bucks. Mine was 150 and its great!

Just be warned: its adicting!

keep it real,
~Meg

If i were u, I wouldn't invest all my money into it before you know you want to get serious.

LF Evo/Elements - $300. Much better than Hydroslide.

Wow... That was a useless post amigo. Does that help you sleep better at night knowing that you have a 700 dollar setup at msrp? Any board that is in your price range and will get you out on the water is better than no board at all. I started on a slayer 6 years ago because it was a hand me down. I finally was able to afford an absolute this season.

AirProfile, youre bragging that you paid more money for a board than them? weak.

punksk8er750, there is a LOT of information on this site. if you have the time i highly suggest that you sit down with a nice cold drink and sift through all the posts that have been made (especially in this forum) because im sure that everyone has already asked every question you could ever have about being a beginner. nonetheless if you have any specific questions feel free to ask. some people just dont like to answer such general questions as "can someone give me some basic information." if you search first then ask for clarification next you will probably find a lot more people will help you (and it will be easier for us to help you).

Your board does the trick for now... Worry about a better board later... Your money is spent, now, just go have fun and burn some gas! Smile

ACTUALLY

i was not trying to brag not at all i was congratulating him on his purchase how much cheaper it was then myne i believe my setup was only 400 but wb.com puts it as 700

also my first board was 150 but once i found a friend that boarded and he saw my bindings the velcro overs that are as soft as pillows and are awful he quickly made me get new used bindings

i wouldn't brag

and burn some gas Blake, i hate doing that Very Happy

i started off just renting a board and getting used to it that way
then when i felt comofrtable and had the money i bought a double up binding board package and you get used to your own board and it feels good.
