Hey all, just started wakeboarding and i got my hyperlite state 140 package for this weekend. It's was a great ride the bindings are really good for my foot (sz 11) but I only have varios to compare them to all in all though I'm very satisfied with this setup. So i learned frontside and backside slides and i can do frontside and backside 180's but i can clear the whole wake when I do them. Does that mean It's a surface 180? I get some air off the wake and make it 3/4 across. I'm getting the hang of progressive edgeing and riding switch but I can't do w2w yet. I still need to get a non stretch rope so that might help. Any suggestions on what to learn next? How am I progressing so far? Any input is appreciated.

BTW my cottage is on sparrow lake in Gravenhurst north of Orillia South of Muskoka in Ontario anyone else ride this area?

The next thing you work on should definitely be wake to wake jumps.

The problem most people have with wake to wake jumps is that they try to jump when hitting the wake which will take you off edge. Start out about 5 feet and take a good edge into the wake with your knees bent(doesn't have to be a hard edge). When you reach the wake all you do is straighten your legs, not jump. If you straighten your legs a little as you are coming up the wake you will pop up.

You may not go w2w the first couple times which is OK. The important thing is to get used to the feel of being popped up the correct way. Once you are used to it, just cut out a little farther and cut a little harder. Before you know it you'll be charging at the wake with your butt an inch off the water and landing way intotheflats Wink

Good luck
