| I keep falling on the back of my head after I turn......how do I stay on axis? The only backside trick I can do is a surface 360. Thanks

í found TS wrapped BS180's really easy. They look pretty cool with a grab as well.
First up you want to be solid on normal TS180's
I first tried them at full length just 1 wake. (75ft behind a response with about 1300lb ballast and 2 people). For this just cruise in super slow, pop up and let go of the small handle. Keep the large/rear handle close to your hip and it will spin you round. Look for the opposite shore over your shoulder, try to keep your chest up so you spin on axis. Kept doing this until i had it where i would get 4-5 in a row solid.
After that i shortened the rope 2 loops to about 65 feet to get wake to wake. This took a few goes as there is more tension in the line and you have to go across as well as popping up. At the moment i guess that I am about 50% successful on this line length. Plan on taking it to about 3-4 in a row and then letting the rope out one shortening at a time. I found waiting longer before I released the small handle and keeping the main handle close to my hips helped from getting pulled off axis.
Anyway, to keep on axis, if you are doing handle pass, try to wait longer before you pass. Many people encourage going for an indy grab or whatever to force you to wait longer. Try to keep your head and chest up.

AR230HO - I've been working on bs180's as well. Usually, when I fall backwards, it's because I'm reaching for the handle behind my back or I'm trying to look where I'm going.
To fix the first, I really try to focus on keeping the handle in tight to my body and make the pass a little earlier. The first several times I tried spinning backside, I would spin first and pass the handle later. Found it worked a lot better if I made the handle pass part of my rotation. For the second problem, helps to focus on something directly behind me (shoreline, docks, etc). Have to just trust you're riding for a second to get your balance, then change to looking forward again.
Just a couple of the things I've experienced. Actually, I'd like to hear what some other people have to say since I'm still trying to get these consistent.

| First learn ollie bs 180 in the flats, then take it from inside the wake out at slower speeds. Once you get both of these consistant you're ready for wake to wake. I always make sure my knees are bent and the handle is close during my cut in. Make sure you pop before starting your rotation and keep your head up. You will have splenty of time so don't rush the rotation. Upon landing edge away from the wake.

I found switch bs 180s easiest to learn.
I'll explain it so you can do it either way, switch or regular
cut about 15 feet outside the wake, take a progressive edge in and hit the wake just fast enough to clear it. once you have got your pop and are in the air, pull the handle with both hands PAST your front hip and behind you. Let go for a split second and reach around for your other hand and when you have the handle in both hands, let go with the hand that is going to be dropped. land edging away from the wake on your toeside edge and keep your eyes on the shore to avoid slipping out.

Ctipping, is correct... Eyes on shore. If you look down you’ll go on your but if you look around to the boat you'll go on your face. People underestimate the power of focusing on the shore!

Get all stinky and land wrapped!!!! problem solved....
Pop, Indy grab, push handle back at the wake, spin BS, lean over toes, land wrapped.... pushing the handle back at the wake will help keep your hips close to the handle. also wait to spin BS until you are on the way down, it helps keep me on axis and over my toes. should help you as well.

Vance, Your are correct... if you are a goofy footer than that position looks prety good. Really try to keep your eyes on the shore behind the boat. In your picture you are looking to spot your landing and that is not a good idea on bs 180s. Pop, take a second to take in the scenery behind the boat (this will help slow everything down), then just look to the shore on your left ( shore on right side of boat) and feel the landing before turning back to face the boat. Looking down always messes me up.
You should be focused on the house that I have circled until you feel the landing, your eyes are looking down and to the left. Looking down and to the left too early will bury the nose of your board.

From what I see in the pic.
You are halfway across the wake (middle) and already BS... this = early in my book.
You should be almost at the second wake and on the way down before you spin BS.
It should be more like you stalled out in the air did no trick and then said bam I'm going BS now at the last possible second. This will for sure keep you on axis but also help when you try to grab the trick. I know guys that can bust BS regular & switch all day long down the lake but they leave supper early and can never grab one.
I think the landing wrapped method will help you the most cuz that in it self slows everything down. handle pass once you hit the water.

If you are going to try landing wrapped like Jdogg suggests, try riding in that position to get used to it first. Keep you handle in tight to your back, or it will try to un-wind you.
