Hi there,
I have a LF Omega 135 which has 2 molded side fins and one replaceable center fin. I am just wondering what effect would there be if I change a deeper center fin from 1.2" to 1.9"? Will I have a better tracking? Will a deeper center fin help edging? All I want is to have a stable ride and stable edge. Will a deeper fin help landing for a simple wake jump? Thanks in advance!!!

by far you'll have more stability, carve better and board is less likely to slip out. It will also help you landing, in terms of the board slipping out from under you, When I first started back in the day, I used a shark shaped fin, helped out tremendously. give it a shot

Yes, but I would leave it alone and work on your technique.

I ride an Omega 139 and at first it was difficult getting used to as it was much looser than the LF Team & HL Murray that I had previously been riding.

The first day of riding the Omega it slipped out from under me on several occasions. I learned fast to keep it on edge and when in the air, use one hand (same hand as your front foot). If you use two hands your shoulders can pull your hips around and you can land in a slide. I would recommend using one hand for edging too as the board hits neutral easily at speed. Using one hand will help keep you going in the correct direction and not pull you around into a slide when you hit neutral between your heel->toe & toe->heel edging. Work on this and you'll soon be carving up the lake.

The board’s looseness is fantastic for surface tricks. Doing a simple surface 180’s into switch is much, much easier than the Team or Murray was. At first I could edge better on the others, but every time I ride the Omega, I get better and better and like it that much more than the other two. The Omega basically forced me into becoming a better wake boarder and showed me how sloppy I really was before. If you change it, go smaller or finless, not bigger. You will not improve overall by doing such IMO.
